Run by a very sweet husband and wife. Great service and amazing food. We especially loved having dinner here and listening to stories from the owners.

It's like driving into a little paradise with 7 acres of all sorts of mature trees. When you step out of the car the piece and quiet stands out

My wife and I stayed in this lovely old worldly hotel, set in beautiful grounds. Lovely breakfast, and nice evening meal, we did not mind breakfast 9/10am and evening meal 8/9pm. Henry and Elaine were lovely hosts, plenty of chat and craic, I am only so sorry that they have decided to retire, as we would have loved to revisit them. Our room was very clean and excellent bathroom. Best wishes Henry and Elaine, happy retirement. Graham and Esdale

This is a hotel with a main lounge and bar from a 1850 house. The room was quite large with high cielings. The driveway up is a paradise of a wonderful lazy river with beautiful trees. There is plenty of parking. The breakfast wa shot with many choices. They serve meals in a quiet refined dining room. The owner tends the bar at night and loves to listen and talk about their travels to Morocco and the history of the Hotel. The hotel is however not on a lake but close to one. The peace and quiet makes it a wonderful secret place for a getaway or for a place to see the Connemare park and the countryside

Having paid for 4 star experience ...it didn't even come close...old & tired ...stuck in the past ...lack of promised facilities disappointing...strict 1hr slot for both breakfast & dinner was a ridiculous...their fast speed wifi was deadly slow or non existent hot water was very hit & miss no tea/coffee making facilities we had to make do with fill ups of our own flasks for this...the hotel was locked & bolted at night with no night staff & no1 on duty till well after 8am ...most of their awards are 10 or 15yrs old...don't waste your hard earned money on this not so luxury experience
