Hotel Olympia

We will never forget this holiday, it was simply catastrophic!! The room doors in the entire hotel did not work, you could only open or close them with force, which you could hear throughout the hotel. Even the caretaker, with the help of my husband, could not repair our two room doors. The shower door in our room was missing!! - I reported this to reception and the staff could not believe it themselves - even the caretaker could not believe his eyes when he saw this. He said that the shower door was broken and had therefore been removed. A new shower door was not installed. In the next room a woman was also taking a shower and the shower door would not open because it was stuck. The caretaker had to be called there too. We were able to move to another room, which did have a shower door, but it smelled so strongly of drains that we had to keep the bathroom door closed at all times. The rooms on every floor smelled of sewage, which also bothered the other guests. Every day there were complaints from the many guests. Guests were queuing up at reception to complain, but the staff only said that they knew that the hotel was in dire need of renovation. You could never speak to the hotel management because they were either off or busy. The side dishes that were left over from dinner were served for breakfast the next day (spinach gnocchi, vegetable casserole...). At breakfast and dinner we saw that some guests had to clean the empty, used tables themselves because the staff apparently didn't feel responsible. Dinner was a disgrace!!! We noticed that one evening the chicken smelled really funny and the table next to us had the same meat and complained. One member of staff just asked if the food didn't taste good and said that he knew himself that the food wasn't good!! That says a lot!!! We then decided to cancel dinner and wanted to eat somewhere else, but the hotel wouldn't let us. We were able to eat somewhere else, but the hotel didn't refund our money. The beach was so crowded, we've never seen anything like it. Some guests reserved a spot on the beach at 6 a.m. and set up tents for shade. When you went into the water, other guests were so close to you that you didn't even have room to lie down on the lounger you had paid for. All in all, we would never book this hotel again.

Super hotel, with good surroundings. Close to beach and town

We stayed at the Hotel Olympia for a 5-day family holiday with half board. The older hotel. (The beautiful hotel that looks like a ship is the much more expensive but also nicer Olympia Sky Hotel, which is part of the same complex). The hotel is very close to the beach. You only have to walk through the hotel grounds once and you're there. The food was absolutely fine. There is a selection of several different dishes as well as two soups and a salad buffet. I also had pizza every evening which was freshly made and tasted good. Breakfast was great. Also with a lot of choice. Drinks are included with breakfast and have to be paid for with dinner (as is the case in most hotels with half board). There is a large main pool and a second pool. There are also 2 children's pools. There is also a playground for children and an air-conditioned games room in the Hotel Olympia Sky, which guests of the Hotel Olympia can also use. Rooms were fine, if a bit small. Towels have to be paid for. When we were there they cost €7 each. But we brought our own. Parking costs €7 per day outside. In the underground garage €12 per day. The new and beautiful Olympia Sky Hotel, which is part of the same complex, is very cool. As a guest of the Olympia Hotel, you can go to the bar on the 9th floor and enjoy it, which looks great. The prices are very reasonable. Just as cheap as in the pool area at the main pool. So around €3.50 for iced tea, for example. It's definitely worth going up there.

This was the fourth time we stayed at this accommodation. Great breakfast buffet - large selection. The condition and facilities are showing their age. The pool is great and clean. The hotel is very central and surrounded by shops, restaurants, etc.
