My husband and I spent the weekend at the Highlander Hotel and had a fantastic stay. The room was very spacious, beautifully decorated and had everything we needef. With a lovely patio and stunning view. The fireplace was a lifesaver on the chilly nights. Staff were friendly. The food at the restaurant was out of this world. We will definitely be visiting again.

What an experience. Awesome venue. Attention to detail seems to be their moto. Service is excellent. From the staff in reception through to the chefs who want to do something different. Looking for a weekend away . This hotel should be on your list.

The rooms are cosy and comfortable. The beds are warm on a cold night. Luxurious! Room service available. But prefer to be in the restuarant. Perfect for a quick getaway, or a couple of days of pure relaxation!

Another incredible stay at the Highlander Hotel. This place is just wonderful and never disappoints. Each time I stay it just gets better. The new decor to the rooms make you feel like royalty and the staff enhance that by always being ready and able to assit your every need with a friendly smile on their faces.

Very nice hotel, clean, lots of greenery around. We arrived on October 23rd after a wonderful trip to South Africa. We asked at the reception for information on where to eat in the town, unfortunately they were unable to give us this type of service except that the restaurants close quite early. At that point we opted to eat inside the hotel, booking for 7.30pm, too bad that when we arrived on time, the room was closed and there was no one left at the reception. We took the car and ran into the town and found a restaurant that was running out. In short, with a lot of apologies we left the next morning😬

We stayed in one of the annex rooms which was just across the road from the main hotel. We were offered an upgrade for a supplement but decided it was only 2 nights, it wasn't worth the extra R1000+. The room was comfortable in itself but so very cold. The only heating was from the wood burner so coming back to a cold room when you’re freezing and now you have to build a fire (and hope it catches) and wait for some warmth to eventually find its way into the room, not a great experience. We were charged for an extra bundle of logs the following night, not a lot of money but surprising nevertheless. The electric blanket was a godsend so an early bed it was. We ate in the restaurant on the first night. Although I’d made a reservation way ahead it was pretty empty while we were there on the Sunday and the kitchen closed at 7.30pm. My husband had the oxtail which he enjoyed, I only had a starter as I wasn’t hungry. We weren’t inspired by the menu so cancelled our table for the following night. There was a varied breakfast menu, we both had the pancakes which were stodgy and not very nice, accompanied by sugar-solid honey. The staff were very helpful. The décor in the main hotel areas was tasteful. We may have possibly chosen the wrong room in the annex but as we won’t be going back we’ll never know.

The hotel offered an exceptional suite with a gorgeous log fire which was set ready for us after we had eaten a brilliant dinner. Simon who was on reception was more of a factotum and helped us with everything. He is a credit to this hotel and made our experience even better. Breakfast also didn’t disappoint with a lovely choice of options from a full British breakfast to various local options such as locally sourced trout with scrambled eggs. I am really looking forward to going to this hotel again. One night was just not enough.

A small, charming hotel, well located in the center of the village. Located in a cold region, the rooms have a fireplace and are both well equipped. The hotel restaurant is very good, we were in a group of 25 people and everything worked very well. There are two sets of rooms, we opted for the room where cars could park at the door, but it seemed to me that the rooms close to the main office were also good.
