Despite pleasant surroundings, this restaurant is absolutely freezing, the food is terrible and the staff are all disinterested teenagers. Nowhere else will you see people queuing up to order, then eating with their coats and even hats on, huddled around inadequate gas heaters that put out about as much heat as a tealight. The breakfast I had this morning was abysmal. One slice of Wheaten bread, a little scrambled egg, four uncooked cherry tomatoes and a little streaky bacon (not crispy and mostly rind). For this pathetic offering, I was charged almost 10Euros. The 'Mocha' was barely warm and served in a small cup, another few Euros. So hungry was I on leaving, that I went back to Newry for a proper breakfast. The only reason I did not complain at the time, was that I was in company and didn't want to make a scene, but eating at the Secret Garden is an experience that I never want again.
