Ballymascanlon Hotel and Golf Resort

We checked in late and receptionist was very efficency + friendly.I had rang earlier in the day to say we would be arriving later.Reception asked what time as food finished being served at 9pm.I was happy to know this + we stopped on route as our arrival time was due to be 9 30.We had a lovely spacious room and enjoyed a few drinks in the bar Only small quip: barman didn't let the Guinness settle before top up.Told me "that will be grand in a few minutes" To me that indicates he knew he should wait.Tasted lovely! Did ask what type of tonic I would like for gin which I was happy about

Beautiful hotel. Within easy reach by motorway from Belfast or Dublin, great amenities lovely pool area, tennis courts, golf course and walks around the grounds. The house is beautiful and has been redecorated recently the decor in the restaurant is beautiful as well a sthe bar area, we ate in the bar twice food and service was excellent. Our bedrooms were very comfortable with large with king sized beds, large bathrooms and spotless. My sisters room had a problem with the heating and they were moved to a beautiful suite, including a fabulous 4 poster bed. Staff are so attentive and professional.

Beautiful oldie worldy hotel with stunning grounds. Some things a little dated & tired but all in all we had a lovely stay. The only thing I would improve would be to perhaps add potato bread & beans to the breakfast choice but that’s just my preference.

We got married here 20 years ago & decided to go back down memory lane. It’s still as beautiful & special as it was then. We had beautiful food in the bar & it had a lovely relaxed atmosphere but will definitely return to the newly refurbished dining room. Our room was lovely overlooking a beautiful walled Rose garden. All the staff around each part of the hotel are just so lovely. special thanks to Linda & Thomas for all their kindness. There was work going on as they are refurbishing bedrooms but it didn’t impact us & looking forward to going back & see this lovely hotel shine even more!

Really lovely, older building but clean tidy and homely. Staff were all absolutely wonderful. Food was excellent in bar where I had my dinner. Gym was small and perhaps a little dated however had everything I needed. Pool was lovely. Would highly recommend and will stay again when in area.

Myself and two relatives stayed for three nights in a triple room while visiting family in Dundalk. The hotel was spotlessly clean and well looked after, and the staff lovely. In particular, Aine on reception was exceptionally helpful and she deserves a pay rise for putting up with our banter :-) The buffet breakfasts were good, though the bacon was a bit on the dry side by the time we staggered down to the dining room. Overall, very much worth the price and I'd happily stay here again.

How can a beautiful place be so deceptive! The first good thing is we can not fault the grounds of this Country House, the roses were out in full bloom. Now lets get to it, my hubby ordered the meat feast pizza to be given a pizza with large cut up pieces of sausages which looked like they were left over from breakfast and just thrown on the top, it actually shouldn't of been sausages but chorizo 🤔 please see picture below. The bar staff serving the Lunch looked as though they didn't want to be there, not a smile in sight! We got checked in early (thank you) first impression the bedroom was spacious and had a beautiful view overlooking the gardens, we kinda said lets put our poor lunch behind us! TILL!!! We asked at the reception at 20.00hr when does the heat come on in the bedrooms as the room was cold and the radiator was stone cold!Her reply was "it comes on at 19.30hr" ⌛ 21.00hr came,still no heat at this time and we still had our coats on! I rang down to the receptionist, this time to be told she would contact Housekeeping and they would get us a heater 🤔 it is now coming up to 23.00hr still nothing so we have gave up 🥶 Check out was at 12md we left straight after breakfast before 10am (breakfast was lovely but no beans) I totally understand the hotel needs work and you have the workers in but for the workers to start working around 08.00hr this is some alarm clock! Sadly we won't be back! This hotel needs some serious auditing.
