Grand Soluxe Hotel Dunhuang Reviews

This hotel has a great location. The facility is good, and the staff is friendly and helpful. I had only one problem during my stay in this hotel. The hot water is only luke warm. I guess that the central heating system is too old and cannot maintain a higher temperature. This is a serous problem need to be solved.

We like the hotel, which was nice hotel near the center of Dun Huang. The service was good, all staff we met were friendly. Convenient for walking to the city center with shopping, banks etc. Easy to find the rental car. The breakfast buffet were plentiful with different foods for both Chinese and Westerner tastes, the only negative thing bout the breakfast is the lousy & very think coffee served during the breakfast. The hotel restaurant is closed for dinner, we found some nice local ones nearby, one of them on the river side with great night light show. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The double room was full of smoky stink!! As we arrived very late, we were told there is no other room available. The hotel should have separated rooms for smokers and non-smoking.

It's the best hotel in town. But please don't expect to much comfort and service. Breakfast is .... ok

Nice bathtub and room though a little outdated. The only issue we had is one staff member insisted on us not going to the Crescent Springs nearby because it didn’t open until 9 am even though we knew it opened at 6, and tried to convince us not to go when we asked for help buying tickets. It was very odd, it’s the main attraction there I’m sure she knows the hours. We went at 6 and it was open as always, according to baidu and the staff, enjoyed a beautiful sunrise luckily didn’t listen to front desk.

Facilities are rather poor as there was only one functioning restaurant for such a big hotel. My husband found hair on his breakfast food, but when we showed to the waitress, she didn’t care, as if it’s a normal thing. The hotel is barely considered 5 star hotel..

Absolutely beyond my expectations! The staff were so nice! We had come from a desert camping trip and they let us check in at 8am without any question, which we were so grateful for. The shower was good and the bed was soft and comfortable. This is a huge change from our previous hotel in the moon crescent area (also "5" star). Breakfast was plentiful and had options for all. They delivered yoghurt to the rooms in the afternoon. The location is great. It took 10 minutes to walk to the night market and mall. Overall, I would book this hotel over and over again! Fabulous! Thanks for a great stay!

Nice hotel in an area with little options. Breakfast was not very International but enough to survive. The room is very big. They check in was easy. For the location it’s one of the better hotels for sure!

The room facilities are indeed a bit old! But the location is excellent, and the service is quite good. In short, we think we can stay in this hotel again next time we go to Dunhuang! Because it is not a big problem, let's not mention it. After all, the hotel is working hard to make up for the lack of old facilities. The breakfast is delicious! In fact, I don't ask for much, just a beef ramen, two sunny-side-up eggs, and a cup of freshly ground coffee! It would be ideal if it could be like a European hotel, providing a pot of hot milk. Yogurt is also delivered every day! Great! We stayed here for two consecutive days! See you next time I visit the Hexi Corridor in depth! Everyone must take time to go to the nearby Danghe River to see the lights at night! I haven't seen it anywhere else!

I am very satisfied with the service of the concierge Xiao Qiao. He was patient and considerate. He introduced us to various performances and helped us book tickets. Even if our itinerary changed during the period, it was not too troublesome at all. He also specially decorated a birthday room for our children.

Overall, the price-performance ratio is very high. The hotel is very grand, right by the river, in the city center, very close to Shazhou Night Market, Mogao Grottoes and Mingsha Mountain. There are many places to eat around the hotel, which is very convenient. The service is also very good and responsive. The breakfast is average, and it is not a big deal compared to the price. It is nice to walk along the river. There is not much water but it is very clear. Recommended!

I saw five stars on Ctrip and thought it should be good. When I checked in, the front desk helped to upgrade the room type. There was welcome fruit in the room. When I opened it, the cherry tomatoes were soft. The window was the same as if there was no window. Two yogurts were given on the first night, which was ok. The shower water was sometimes loud and sometimes soft. The toilet had to be manually turned on. The TV started to jam after two mobile phones were connected to the Internet at night. I stayed for 2 nights in total. When I came back from playing outside on the first night, I saw a lot of hair in the bathtub. I don't know if it was cleaned. This facility is not worthy of this star rating. The parking lot is large and the service attitude is very good. In short, the experience is very bad

Facilities: relatively complete, mirrors everywhere in the room, unique. Hygiene: clean and tidy, hot water is comfortable, and there are free fruits in the room. Environment: close to the scenic area, you can see the river view, convenient to the snack street, free parking. Service: The hotel does not have parking instructions, and I turned around twice. I could only find the parking lot by asking the front desk in the lobby. I suggest improvement. Others are OK.
