I ordered the sea food risotto when I was out for lunch with my family. The mussels had not been bearded, so I asked if I could send this dish back for another. I then received the venison burger, which came with a giant ginger hair on the burger. Not only had my family finished their meal by the time my second meal arrived, it also had a hair in the burger, under the bun. The staff didn’t seem to bothered, they did however give me my money back after I asked. Poor service, no compensation… food was very over priced for what it was and clearly the chefs had minimal training. Won’t be back.

All batter no fish! The location was fantastic, the menus very enticing. Unfortunately the service was quite poor and the quality of the food even poorer. We ordered the handmade burgers. They tasted like yesterday’s re-heat, and were more like Lorna sausage than burger. Not good and nothing like acceptable for an £18 dish.

We stayed here for 2 nights as we had a wedding at Cardney Steading! The hotel was beautiful and we could not fault a thing. Room was stunning, staff were all so lovely and helpful :) our bed made in the morning and fresh towels were left for us. We stayed in room 6 and had a bronze free standing bath plus a separate shower which was a bonus!! Breakfast was delicious both days, we had the eggs Benedict and fried breakfast! If we are ever in Dunkeld again we wouldn’t hesitate at staying again.

Beautiful hotel with the best staff that go above and beyond. I'm a frequent guest and always feel so welcomed. The food is wonderful in the restaurant and bistro and, when the weather's nice, the best place to be is the beer garden by the river where the staff always greet you with a smile. This hotel is a favorite for us!

Absolutely beautiful hotel and in a lovely little town. The hotel has various areas inside and out to relax and enjoy a wine or a coffee. The rooms are decorated beautifully. Breakfast hit the spot too. This hotel really was a 10/10, except for the fact we got no sleep. Unfortunately we had someone in the room next door who we could very clearly hear snoring all night, it kept us awake and actually woke us up at various points too. I appreciate this isn't something the hotel can do much about, but I think it's worth being aware of. Would love to stay again and get the 10/10 experience though, as I think it deserves that sort of review.

Just in for a quiet drink in the beer garden. Quiet it definitely wasn't. The wailing singer made sure we won't be returning if he is appearing as it was excruciating. Apart from that their drink prices are expensive. £11.00 for a large wine and £7.00 for a pint of cider. Such a pity as it's in a prime position on the river.

The first thing to say is the location of this hotel is spectacular, being right next to the river Tay. It is also literally in the town centre. The bar on the river bank is beautiful and the views from it amazing. As others have said, be careful walking up from the car park and crossing the road. It is not paved, has pot holes, is narrow and has no lighting. It is difficult to see approaching traffic from the left at the top of the slope so look carefully before crossing. The hotel is clean, but could do with a lick of paint and some TLC in places. I am not sure where they are going with the decor however, its a bit Scottish Baronial meets IKEA, but still really well decorated. The lounge area is particularly nice and well presented. We paid for a delux room, and have to say we were quite happy with what we paid for. Warm, comfortable and everything provided. The bed was large enough to land a helicopter on. (Room 6) We found the staff, polite, friendly, and attentive. We had no issues with any of them. They work long hours, and its not an easy job, so they deserve a thank you. Well done all. Breakfast was well presented, really nicely cooked, hot and tasty. OK there may not be a great selection for a continental breakfast on display, but you only have to ask. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. It was comfortable and nicely presented. Not bad value for money. A very enjoyable stay, we would quite happily stay again.

Sent this critique to the hotel direct, to avoid them getting bad press, however after 5 days still no response, which astounds me. Shows they don't really care. The hotel could be so good with a few tweaks, but feel the management have become complacent given the touristy location. "We don’t usually critique eateries or hotels, however felt compelled to share my thoughts following our stay on Friday night, albeit in a more private way than Trip Advisor. First off, getting hold of your hotel reception is difficult. Having only a mobile number or divert to a mobile doesn’t seem professional and having to leave a message, isn’t a great first impression. When Angela did call back, she was lovely and helpful. Can’t fault her and will say more about her later. We had booked to stay in a deluxe room and dinner for my friends, partner and I. Upon arrival, your receptionist was again really professional and friendly. Explained everything perfectly. The last stay I had at your hotel was 20 years ago and the upper hallway looked a bit drab and needing a good freshen up. It obviously has not been decorated much over the years. The floorboards also squeaked much as they did 20 years ago. Both easy fixes. The room was really nice, but the mixer tap was loose and we had no hot water. We were meeting our friends for drinks in the lounge. We nipped through to the bar just to see which beers you had on tap and ask about dry white wine. Your Eastern European bar man more or less ordered us out of the bar and said he would come and take our order. No smile, no please/thankyou. Just a scowl and the very few people sitting at a table in the bar looked over in disbelief! This gentleman was scruffy and disheveled, (jeans hanging off his backside, shirt hanging out, hair a mess) not the best advert for your establishment. Moving on to food, the meals were overcooked, overpriced and clearly the work of a cook, not a chef! The scallop starter was tiny and everything was chewy and almost burnt to a crisp. The main seafood dish was just a pile of dodgy scampi, akin to an Iceland heat-up job. The fish/batter was slimy and we left more than we ate. Left the meal hungry. Sat for a couple of night caps and we were then quizzed at 10.10pm when I ordered the last drink. Your staff looked unhappy that my friends were still in the hotel. It was my pals 70th and I couldn’t believe your staff expected me to usher him out the door mid drink ! Very strange policy. I agree about not opening your doors to let public in after 10, but letting them out a few minutes after 10, having being there as part of a residents party all evening should be accepted. Slept badly. Pillows were like concrete blocks and I can barely move my neck since leaving your hotel and have to cancel a contract tomorrow! Frustrating. We booked breakfast for 8am as we had to get away sharpish. The blonde lady was very professional and welcoming, fetching coffee and nothing a pr

Booked in here for dinner with friends who live locally, we arrived earlier thinking we could get a drink or two before dinner, not the case, basically made to take our table, simply didn’t seem to be anywhere to sit for just drinks in any of the areas, certainly the staff didn’t want us to anyway We all thoroughly enjoyed the meal, can’t knock the food or the service in that regard, just seems a shame a lovely looking pub like this has nowhere to enjoy a drink on a Saturday night, can imagine in summer there is plenty room as a lot of outside areas
