This hotel is in a residential area, very quiet, near the sea. You can smell the nice fragrance as soon as you walk in the door. The whole decoration is very classical and exquisite. You can see that the owner has put a lot of thought into it. The mattress and pillows here are very comfortable, and the spa bathtub is huge and very clean~

Met Serge briefly on Friday night, was warmly welcomed and found the property to be as good as expected, close walk to town, nice area, good facilities.

Excellent location, lovely hosts and superb room with balcony - a total chilling stay walking distance to a beautiful, safe beach and close to a golf course where one evening we counted 60 (yes 60!) large, small, old and young kangaroos feeding. Very near to other locations worth visiting- ask Serge for advice. Many, many thanks and when next we come back to W.Aus, we will be booking once we have confirmed dates. Many, many thanks! We had high hopes for our stay based other reviews, sadly we jokingly took to calling this accommodation 'dusty lanterns' aside from needing a deep clean our fridge did not work properly hence much food was spoilt before management suggested the fridge in guest lounge. Supplies were not replenished in guest areas, rubbish was slow to be removed etc if it wasn't for the location or the pool we'd have left early. Such as shame as it's looks like it was clearly once a much loved destination.

Lanterns retreat is lovely! Located near the town centre of Dunsborough, and within walking distance to the beach. We stayed 2 nights in a beautiful spacious room at the lodge. Comfy bed, bar fridge, wifi and a spacious bathroom with a bath. Very clean! Serge is a great guy, and has created a very welcoming vibe.

The Lanterns Retreat is like a home away from home. Room was very comfortable and the welcome package in the fridge was gratefully received. Communication was very easy and access to property a breeze. I could not fault the property at all. Stay here when you go to Dunsborough!
