Düsternbrook Guest Farm

The gravel road was lots of experience, especially when we left the lodge, was raining the day before and all the rivers where flowing, beautiful, before we arrived to the lodge, we saw couple of wild animals

absolutely extraordinary stay you will never forget. The View, the Service, the silence, everything. I don't know what you can do better

We stayed in the "River Chalet", that will be my first problem, this is no chalet (not by my definition), it is a big room with 4 beds, no privacy, luckily the bathroom is a seperate room, a little refrigerator and a gas stove. Thus basically the place have two rooms. No kitchen accessories available. Totally over priced for what you received, very disappointed. The main area with reception and were the swimming pool is located is very nice but also needs a lot of attention. Do not think it is being kept up / maintained as when the place maybe started off, the place seemed very rundown, no proper maintenance overall. We did visit during December and the road to the guest farm was a nightmare, river crossings and very stressful. Took a lot of our time to move around and travel from the guest farm to anywhere else. It is a beautiful farm and the peaceful nature and surrounds was wonderful with also all the animals that can be observed and the river just flowing past. The staff was always very helpful and friendly. The drinks and food that was available at reception was also very pricey but luckily served with a smile. Also strange that the host did not introduce himself to us and checked-in that all is well, we did almost stay a week on his farm. A highlight of our stay was seeing Tommy, the leopard in action when he was being fed, just one beautiful animal living the great life!

We stayed at Dusternbrook only one night, that was the only downside to it. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay very much, everyone was very friendly, great food, a very nice accommodation and great surroundings. Not to forget the slightly adventurous route that leads to it!!

Traveling there is a big adventure. Gravel road with rivercrossings. I have no experience in offroad driving. So it was a big adventure to go there with 3 river crossings. We stayed at the camp side. A little bit old, but clean and everything available.

All went great, the place is very spacious and comfortable. It also seems great for small families as there is a nice balcony with a braai area.

Went on a day trip visit for a game drive. Our game drive guide was excellent and very knowledgeable. We saw a large number of animals (hippo, giraffe, oryx, zebra, warthogs, kudu, blackjack jackal, impala and springbok). Also saw a leopard feeding. Transport was arranged to and from the farm and it was prompt, friendly and professional. I really enjoyed it and recommend it for a fun day out

We stayed at the secluded and private Point of View, 30min drive from the main guest farm. The point of view is managed by lovely Gertrud, who takes care of everything! She is absolutely amazing, her food is great and the service too! We really enjoyed to relax at this place. The rooms are spacious and clean, very nice atmosphere. Would definitely come back to this part of the guest farm again.

Beautiful surrounding, great views and an awesome Sky unlimited Game Drive. Would like to come again and again...
