The room I had was excellent and very comfortable. Excellent bath and shower! Nice touch with the complimentary Sloe Gin. TV signal not good though unfortunately.

We came here for my husband’s birthday lovely place and greeted very well . We sat next to people that were having a big party I felt ignored we had one cup of coffee and every time we put our hand up for a drink we were ignored . In the end we thought maybe a glass of wine so I went to reception as I thought there was another room . It was decided we would have our wine back at the table 20 minutes later we were still waiting we got fed up with this and went else where then was asked oh your leaving !! We won’t return or recommend this place

Overall, we had a lovely overnight stay in Main House Room 1. Very comfortable room, with excellent firm mattress on the bed and nice touches like GHD hairdryer and Roberts radio. One or two minor comments. On the website, it stated that if you booked directly, you would be sent a voucher for "bubbles", but that wasn't forthcoming. While we could have requested, we preferred not to. On the website photos of the room features, there were bottles of Hildon Water shown, but actually there was just a carafe of ordinary water in the room. One of the main window blinds in the room needs repair, and there was a mark on the wall which possibly had held one of the blind chains. In fact, none of the blind chains was secured with a cleat, which I believe is a health and safety recommendation to avoid child casualties. However, our stay was not marred by any of the above. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We had fillet steak for dinner, and it was excellent, as were the accompanying skin on chips. Breakfast was also very good. We would definitely return.

Lovely hotel , location and friendly staff who go the extra mile :) Had read other reviews so knew what to expect in the stable room 1 we had. Have to agree with other reviews that the room is dark and overlooks the back of the marquee and walk way so only way to have privacy is to keep blind down so then room very dark. Either opaque film or opaque material half way on window would enable you to be in there in privacy with blind open so bit brighter . Just a thought . The weather was cold so in addition to radiator in the room we needed to use the blow heater provided in the wardrobe and then room really warmed up. Other reviewers mentioned lack of towel rail in bathroom which agree with . Also bathroom cold and as radiator in bedroom on same wall would imagine pipe work would allow for radiator heated towel rail on same wall in bathroom which would really help with towel rail and heating in bathroom . The lovely staff showed us some rooms in the main house ; definitely next time we would stay in main house rather than stables . Food and service were excellent . Sunday roast magnificent :) Would be lovely to visit in the summer to enjoy the garden areas

My last visit to this place a number of years ago was one of the worst experiences I have had with a hotel. The new owner has transformed the place from Fawlty Towers to a great hotel 🏨 The staff were very friendly and attentive, the room was warm and very clean with comfortable beds. Took a while to work out the TV channels, nice touch with slo gin in your room, safe and small fridge in your room. Stayed in room 2 with a half decent view of the garden. Only had tea and toast for breakfast so can’t really comment on the food. Safe secure and plentiful parking. Nice pub around the corner called the Plough if you want some local interaction. My only comment was that the sink is too small you end up splashing water everywhere when cleaning your teeth and shaving, other than that this place is A1 can’t wait for my next visit. Keep up the good work 👍

At the weekend we went to the lodge for dinner with friends. I like to say what a beautiful quirky hidden gem this venue is. The decor is stunning and we enjoyed some lovely food. We went for the tapas option and it was all amazing, and we had some lovely wine to accompany it. We finished up with cocktails in the bar which were delicious and the mixologist was very helpful in improvising a cocktail that was not on the drinks list. The service was impeccable throughout. I will definitely be returning to this venue. 10/10 for me.

Our experience at The Lodge Duxford surpassed all expectations, it was a truly luxury experience and the food was amazing! From our friends breathtaking wedding celebration to our relaxing stay and unforgettable dining experiences, every moment spent at at the lodge was absolutely amazing! We can't wait to return just for the lovely rooms and food, me and my partner are now enquiring for future dates! There was loads to do there and all the staff were so kind throughout. Don't even get me started on the cocktails, they were beyond fantastic and I ended up trying the whole menu.

10 out of 10! Can’t think of a single thing that could have improved our stay. Helpful, polite staff, clean room, comfy bed, fluffy towels, coffee maker in the room plus free sloe gin! The food was absolutely amazing, including breakfast. Great bar service. Brilliant weekend, whatever the staff/managers are doing - keep it up!!

To start booking in was a shambles given incorrect booking and told only booked for one night not two and informed hotel fully booked for following night issue was sorted although with the comment well you never read the paperwork and the customer service was at best non existent from waiting an hour in the bar after a dinner reservation with no interaction as to what or why this was happening to the room being serviced or not as I had made the bed after a fashion so I could sit on it the room was not touched other than replacing towels and clean cups and as mentioned in a previous review the collection of cleaners outside the room bumping and banging. Although the hotel has one area the kitchen and its staff that needs to be mentioned for the quality of food it produced as even obviously under serious pressure the quality was worth waiting for. Oh and the barman makes a great Mai Tai.
