We enjoyed the excellent answers about the area history that we got while conversing with the general manager. She knows her history about the local area as well as the state. Such a vibrant history. We will be visiting Chimayo on her suggestion. Our room was very clean, safe and she even went out to buy an alarm clock as ours broke. We truly feel like our business is appreciated

I arrived early morning and the manager went out of her way to accommodate us. Our room was clean and the early check in made everything about the trip go smooth. The game room was great, I hadn't played darts in years. This is truly an escape from the city life I can't wait to return to this property. The building is definitely not new but the manager is doing excellent with what she has. She was extremely knowledgeable about the state, surroundings and answered all of the questions we had. I would most absolutely recommend to fellow travelers before believing these other reviews, try for yourself, the staff is awesome and you won't regret it

If you’re in a pinch looking for a one night stay, it’s fine but I wouldn’t recommend no more than that. Waited 30 minutes before anybody even came up front to check us in upon arriving. Just the appearance from outside of the building to inside of the office to the hotel room itself just did not look clean and maybe it’s because it’s dated.

The manager was not there when our group of 10 arrived and had left her daughter in charge. She either did not know how, or deleted the reservation made months ago, they obviously were not expecting us. The property was unkept, the rooms were missing common things, one room had no cups, another had no coffee, another had no soap, there is dirt and filth throughout the grounds. There was no complimentary breakfast, which we were told it did, in fact when we tried to check out, nobody was in the junk filled office, and there was no mechanism to check out. We just left the key in the room and left at 8:30Am. The Franchise Econolodge needs to look into this terrible hotel in this beautiful area. I think they need to pull their franchise from this location because I will never stay in another Econolodge based on my experience here. And I am not alone. We were all shocked.

I am currently staying at The EconoLodge in Eagle Nest. I wanted to list the reasons why we will return. The building itself is older and is built to look like an old cabin. The general manager who is also the sole employee is great at communicating making the check in completely seamless. There is a historic charm that we noticed as we pulled in to the property. It is obvious that a lot of updates have been and are currently taking place, but the soul of this motel will never leave the more rustic hotel era. We love our room which is on the top floor close to the game room and balcony. Desiree, the owner or manager, has been awesome. She was able to help us book thje rooms we need using her hotel system and getting us a free membersip that will save us a total of $400 her warm hospitality and genuine conversations made us feel like cherished guests. Undergoing Refurbishment: The Old Lodge is currently undergoing extensive refurbishment, thanks to its new owner and I’m excited to see the updates.

Booked room last minute in Eagle Nest and the manager was able to provide us with an extremely early check in, providing us the opportunity to get freshened up before meeting with our clients. The building itself has an older lodge looking appearance which we found suitable for the hotel surroundings. Our room was upstairs so that our view of the Eagle Nest lake was absolutely perfect. Upon arriving back to our room we found that the manager had placed a bottle of sparkling grape juice along with two flutes and a bottle of ice in our room, what was intended to be a business trip ended up being a romantic getaway thanks to the efforts of hotel manager. Our room was clean, comfortable and our upgrade allowed us to stream and binge watch netflix all night.

We really enjoyed our stay. The room was not fancy but nice and clean which is important to us. The owners were awesome and very accommodating. Even though we don't skii, this is the perfect location between Red River and Angel Fire skii areas.
