Ballina Beach Resort

The pool needs  doing up, painting and top edges concrete. Spa pump not working. Our room sliding door frame rusted. Promised buffet breakfast no longer available.

I stayed in Room 236 very spacious, bed & pillow super comfortable, Wi-Fi worked a treat, smart tv, nice bathroom, excellent shower pressure and parking close to door. It’s a very quiet spot easy walk to Lighthouse Beach. You open the side door and you’re walking into a beautiful setting of lots of trees & plants. The place also has a pool, spa, sauna, BBQ area, tennis court and plenty of areas to chill out. You get provided with a towel for the pool and spa. John at the front desk made me feel so welcome where I added another night to my stay. John helped me get the two-night special price and made sure I was very well looked after. I’m so thankful and glad that I found this place.

The positives were the size of the room and the comfy bed, but that's where it ended. The room was shabby and tired and needed some love. Multiple stains on carpet tiles and curtains definitely needed a wash. Also no hot water when trying to shower on check out morning. Disappointing.

We wanted a nice cozy place to stay for a few days before going up to the Gold Coast. I found this by chance and it met with all expectations. The staff are friendly, the room very comfortable, the garden outlook and facilities excellent and clean. Location is lovely and we had a stay that far exceeded our expectations. Balina is really a neat and scenic location and well worth a visit and stay at the BBR for a comfortable time.

Perfect location near the beach, river, walking paths, Shaw's Bay Hotel and coffee shop, and Capiche Italian. Our King Deluxe room with spa bath was lovely, albeit a little dated in decor, but still perfectly suitable. Main thing to improve would be the bed mattress, it was way too "soft" /collapsing a bit in the middle, not great for our backs, but I do personally prefer a firm and supportive bed personally. The pool and spa look a little dated also but renovations are coming apparently which would really spruce the place up! Gardens are gorgeous. But overall, we would book again and recommend as it was really lovely and affordable.
