Turrets and timeless elegance in this storybook castle escape. After dark- a gentle glow shines from the arched windows of Crossbasket Castle. Once the sun goes down- the chandeliers light up and twinkling candles dot tables from the drawing to dining room. This magnificent retreat celebrates a heritage that stretches right back to the 15th century and Robert the Bruce. Yet inside- it wears both its classic roots and contemporary heart on its sleeve. The small collection of restored rooms and suites feature exquisite period details. There are canopied beds in some and claw-foot tubs in others- while all boast splendid views of the grounds. If you have always dreamed of staying in a castle STAY HERE!!! It was the most gorgeous place with incredible service and food. The rooms are right out of a story book. I would stay here forever if I could!

1 year till our second family wedding at Crossbasket and we had an extended family meal in the restaurant. We’ve enjoyed the taster menu several times previously, but the new menu is simply brilliant and not being set opens up more possibilities. Choice, quality, and presentation are Michelin level. However the staff (Kostas and dining staff with Chef Kevin) and settings ambiance take it to a higher plain. As the only sober diner in a party of 10, it was a joy to experience yet it wasn’t Michelin prices. Looking forward to revisiting without driving. Proper old school opulence with the best French Martini ever (according to my wife who’s tried a few)

Afternoon tea was amazing, surroundings beautiful and staff just the best. For a treat it was second to none. The walks in the grounds are stunning, a lovely way to finish the afternoon. I would recommend this to anyone. Excellent for couples or families

I wanted to treat my three lovely Aunts to Afternoon Tea. We were absolutely delighted with the venue and delicious food. The service was also excellent. It really was a 5 star experience. My two Aunts celebrated a birthday this week. Thank you for bring out cakes with candles for them - all unprompted. Nice touch.

Very nice stay again at Crossbasket. It’s a lovely place but there are still some elements of the service which are not quite 5 star or deserving of the prices charged. Staff are very friendly, the food is good, if a little over fussy, and the rooms are beautiful. A few improvement would make this a truly 5 star hotel. - Returning guests should be welcomed back, not asked if they’ve stayed before. Doesn’t make me feel like I’m a valued guest! - Do not ask guests to settle their bill before they are ready to leave/check out. This is a big no no. I was not planning on doing a runner. - Don’t leave guests waiting in an empty bar with staff popping in and out and not offering to serve them. - Missed items off a simple order is also disappointing. Overall this is a very nice place, but falls a little short of expectations which are naturally high. None of the point above would be worth mentioning in standard hotel.

Went to celebrate our friends 70 th Birthday. What can I say. A warm welcome awaited us by Ryan and staff. We sat in the beautiful lounge area, had few beautiful mocktails and mixture of appetizers Wich everyone loved. Our lunch was served in the most stunning dinning room, beautiful piano music playing in back ground,so relaxing. Lunch was just the best I've had in a long time, compliments to to the chef, food and presentation to die for. So sorry I've forgotten names of the staff who served our table, have to say you can see you both really enjoy your job, service with a smile and nothing was problem to you both. Had a chat with Ryan who you can also loves his job in this beautiful castle. If you haven't booked don't delay. Remember there's a fabulous choice on menu. If you are a bit fussy why not go for the burger from bar menu. My friend and I are not burger lovers but went for this. What can I say never tasted anything like it. We cannot wait to return.

The rooms are bigger than they look on the website and the bed was very comfortable. The grounds are beautiful and we were very glad we stayed here but two nights was plenty. Afternoon tea is a great treat rather you are staying or just visiting for a couple hours. The only down side was that we did not want to eat in the main dining room because we felt it was to limiting for our taste. We did eat in the bar but they have a pretty small menu which is for both lunch and dinner. Food was good but I felt the service was very slow.
