Came for food and we both really enjoyed it. I had the steak sizzler and the steak was perfectly cooked and my partner had the chick n mix and enjoyed the meal. Our server he was chatty, approachable and really cheerful highly recommend this place!

Visited to watch the rugby and for some food. Both the food and service was excellent (served by friendly chap called Craig). Plenty of beer choices available. After the rugby finished we sat in the beer garden around the back which had a nice atmosphere. Would visit again

Stayed overnight after seeing a show at Hull Bonus Arena. Staff very helpful and friendly , room very clean and comfortable. Food menu had so many choices and options, super value at 2 meals for £12-49. You could spend more depending on how hungry you are.? Our breakfast option .....super value at £9 -25 The only downside is the extremely clean and comfortable room is ready refurbishment , which is due to take place later. Overall an overnight stay for £46 for two, exceptional value. Staff very helpful and friendly, nothing too much trouble .

The food is by far the best I’ve ever had. And the prices are amazing, we will certainly become regulars now. The large mixed grill was HUGE and the puddings especially the chocolate trio bar was the best pudding I’ve ever had. Brill service too!

Me and my friend stayed here for a couple of nights as we visited a friend. The room was clean (apart from odd stains on the walls), a bit small but manageable. The bathroom contained a shower, bath and soap and shower gel and there was a kettle and tea/coffee/sugar in the bedroom. The staff were nothing but lovely when we had a concern involving extra bedding!

The room felt incredibly cold, and I had received a call about the lack of heating, so I was already aware of the issue. The iron provided was more like a "toy iron" and didn't function properly. The television in the room was smaller than my phone. The food seemed to be microwaved, and the coffee served during breakfast appeared to be nothing more than colored water.

The location is excellent if you are visiting the University. Parking was no problem. Staff were friendly. Our room was a bit tired and we had a portable oil filled radiator provided, that did not provide much heat, as the plumbed radiators were not on.
On our visit the kitchens were closed so there was no breakfast or evening meal option. Fortunately there are plenty of dining options in the vicinity.
Personal gripe was that for a pub they did not offer any real ales.
