The good: Room was bigger than expected. Big TV with Netflix, YouTube etc. Blackout curtains are good. The not-so-good: **READ THIS FIRST PART BEFORE BOOKING** Nowhere on the booking section does it tell you that there are some huge tram works going on in the area and because of that you really struggle to get a taxi or Uber that will come to the property as it takes too long to go around the works. The ones that do pick up and drop off charge a fortune, so what you save in the cheap hotel price is lost in the extortionate travel costs. This really needs to be made clear before booking. Based on what we paid in travel (and we only stayed one night!) we would have been better paying an extra £50 or £60 and staying nearer the centre in a much better hotel, so consider this before booking if the tram works are still ongoing (it looks like it will be ongoing for a while as the works barely looked started). We were told checkout was 10:00 and at 9:45 we had a knock on the door and 2 staff members asked to clean the room. We said we would be 15 minutes as we would be checking out then anyway. 10 minutes later at 9:55 there was another knock at the door. We opened to one of the members of staff rudely barking "checkout!" at us! Terrible service and felt very rushed, so much so I didn't even finish getting ready. Shower tiny, we both really struggled. Window barely opens so no air in the room. Mattress old and uncomfortable. No reception, you check in at a house two houses down, which isn't ideal because when you need something there's nobody to go and see. We wanted to see if they had a fan as it was the hottest day of the year and the window only opened about 10cm but once you're checked in you don't see anybody (until they yell at you to leave!). House smelled strongly of curry. It said no noise after 10pm, absolutely fine, but the people (owners?) downstairs in the private areas were VERY loud after 11pm. The room doors slam shut which woke us a lot in the morning. That, combined with the noise late into the night before, made for a poor night's sleep.
