Adelphi Hotel

I stayed at the Adelphi Hotel on a recent trip to Edinburgh. It's definitely a budget-friendly option, which was perfect for me. The room itself was clean and functional. The bed was comfy, there was a flat-screen TV to unwind with, and the shower had great pressure with plenty of hot water. Heads up, there's no breakfast offered at the hotel. I grabbed food at a nearby cafe each morning, which wasn't a problem, but be sure to factor that extra cost into your budget. The room was a little on the small side, and I heard some noise from outside at times. It's not a fancy hotel, and there aren't any amenities beyond free Wi-Fi. The location, however, was fantastic. It's just a short walk from the tram stop, and most of Edinburgh's attractions were within a 10-15 minute drive. There's even free parking on-site, which is a major plus in the city. Overall, the Adelphi Hotel was a decent choice for my short stay. It's perfect if you're on a budget and don't mind a basic room without frills. Just be prepared to find breakfast elsewhere and manage your expectations.

We had been looking for an inexpensive hotel to stay over one night, through from Glasgow for a party. We weren’t expecting much because of the cost, but were very pleasantly surprised. Hugely spacious room, very clean freshly made beds, TV, coffee/tea making facilities, good shower, clean bathroom with toiletries/towels. Hairdryer, lots of plug points and smart window shutters. Staff incredibly pleasant and helpful. Fabulous location with view out to the park. I’ve given it 5 stars as for the money you pay, it’s excellent.

Location for Leith is great - and actually I walked into the city centre (took about 35mins), and it was a nice walk in the sunshine. Quiet street. Great views of the park from the front of the hotel. This hotel is very basic, my room was clean and it was efficient to check in and check out. It’s outdated and shabby in places, but the shower looked much newer. The owners are really clear about what they offer and what they don’t - so no surprises. It had everything I needed for a nights stay at a good price in this area. The only complaint was the temperature of my room - it was hot, but it was a very sunny day, and got the afternoon sunshine. Nice places to eat a short walk away.

We went with friends to Scotland, and Edinburgh was the last two night stop before returning home. The hotel was adequate for our needs and reasonably priced. The hotel appears to be having some work done from the skip in the garden, but there was no noise issues. Both buses and trams were a short walk away as were bars and restaurants. The owner was pleasant and very helpful with information about the local area. Our room on the top floor had glass slatted windows which we found made the room feel cool, even when the weather was sunny and hot outside, so could be an issue on a cold and wet day, but overall a good stay.
