We had booked business double x2 as travelling with friend and we were given a room each on ground floor - mine near front door and other beside receptionist desk The room was minuscule ( Although clean) Every time someone upstairs used bathroom it sounded like shower in my en suite running The door bell continually went off until after 11. Then being close to reception- guests and receptionist talking Bar very close - so loud loud I paid good money for decent room and got crap. Do not book this hotel. So not worth it. I will say tho the receptionist was very nice and apologetic

Absolutely delightful views, beautiful hotel. Rooms spacious and decent sized ensuite with a bath as well as shower. Great location. Clean and well maintained. Would definitely recommend. Beds could be a bit better/more comfortable but overall a fantastic stay. Thank you Cumberland Hotel

We asked for a double room but was given a twin, staff were no where to be seen when we tried to question. Room was cold, and smelled musty, almost damp. The room and the bathroom need to be updated, facilities were poor. You have to pay £10 to park your car which is unreasonable considering. Wouldn’t recommend.

Absolutely awful hotel dirty ripped bedding and the pillows were yellow with stains dirty mildew windows could not see out of. The kettle was dirty and smelt awful and although gave me a cup of hot water we had no kettle for the rest of the stay. The shower door was dirty and mildew and would not close rotten toilet brush and mildew by the toilet which was also dirty. The breakfast was cold apart from the fresh eggs and felt the ingredients were not the best. Tried to speak to manager. Emailed and sent message. But to no avail. Had we not been with friends I would have walked out. Staff were friendly though which was a good thing. Definitely not recommended.

The holiday was local to where we needed. The room was great for 4 friends too. There was lots of tea and coffee in the room too. Breakfast was lovely, there was a great selection. The team of staff were friendly and helpful too. The bar was reasonably priced too.

Where do I start,the check in was easy, and that's where it stops,the room was a triple one, light and airy, but the floor was absolutely filthy,the bathroom skirting very dusty, window frames where rotten. Breakfast was disgusting and how they can charge £12.95 per person per day is beyond me, also £15 per night to park your car is ridiculous 🙄 Was in 6 which was directly above the reception and bar areas which was very noisy most times, the open plan staircase offers no block out of the noise at all, there's no consideration for the paying patrons,as they let in any amount of outsiders who have no respect for the patrons, they had no control over who was in the bar and lounge areas, in fact we had to force our way through to get to the stairs to gain access to the room, they where sat on the staircase causing an obstruction, which in my eyes was a fire hazard. The only positive review is that the hotel is ideally situated for the city and other amenities.
