I booked this room for a friend who was running an errand on my behalf. The check-in process was simple enough and my friend had no complaints about the room and the hotel facilities. There are hand sanitising stations in the public areas, which is good since you can't be too careful these days. Would book again for myself if I'm ever in the area!

Underlay in our room, but no carpet. Hospitality tray in a cupboard low down. Had to be lifted out as the kettle was attached.

Great to be back. Although the bar area was shut (COVID restrictions nothing that the hotel could do about it) the location and value are incredible.

Date of travel: January 2022 I do miss this hotel, it's been just so great! Yes of course it was outdated and a bit strange with its maze-like corridors, but the breakfast was significantly better than what much better-rated posh hotels do. It's also extremely well located, just 3 minutes walk from Haymarket train+tram station and at least 20 bus lines. And on the top of all these, it's been very-very cheap! This hotel was like an old lady who's lost her fame, but is still shining. I am looking forward to see what the new building will be like.

Very dated, small room, uncomfortable bed. Water stains on roof, broken boards in floor, and spider webs in bathroom. Very disappointing considering how much I paid to stay here.

We were staying in the town house area of the hotel and we went to our room and every place you walked all the floors were creaking and uneven the bed would creak if you lifted the covers off it, staff were nice and so was the bath room

Hotel is in need of refurbishment. There were no curtains or blind on the bathroom window so not very private, luckily nothing overlooked our window….that we knew about anyway. Everything was rather dated and worn out. TV didn’t work. Bed was uncomfortable. The cooked breakfast was good but the continental breakfast was basic. I would struggle to recommend this hotel to anyone.
