Holiday Inn Express EDINBURGH CITY CENTRE by IHG

The location is pretty good, only a ten-minute walk to the train station. The room is small, and the mattress quality isn't great, making my back uncomfortable when sleeping. The English breakfast offers a mediocre variety and quality, and it's quite crowded, with staff struggling to keep up, leading to some disarray. The price isn't cheap, comparable to London.

An absolutely fantastic experience! The room was spacious and spotless, and the staff were incredibly welcoming. We had an early train at 6 AM the next day, and they were kind enough to let us have breakfast ahead of time. Edinburgh is amazing! This hotel is excellent, and the breakfast was delicious – I'd even say it's better than Makars in Edinburgh!

The hotel reception staff were really friendly, and there's complimentary coffee, tea, and hot water. However, the overall facilities are a bit old, the room was dark, and breakfast was just average. On the plus side, the location is excellent, not far from the train station and attractions.

I was given a room on the basement level, which felt a bit damp. The room facilities were old and generally quite average. Breakfast was decent, with all the basic Western breakfast elements. The location is about a 14-minute walk from the train station.

The only downside was that the hotel entrance was a bit hard to find, but everything else was great.

The city is indeed expensive, and the location is great. However, the guests can be a bit mixed, and it gets noisy at times. The room wasn't very big, and the lighting wasn't great. Everything else was pretty normal.
