This hotel is funky and uncomfortable. Honestly, it seemed more like a hostel. Cons: Absolutely terrible lighting—especially the spotlight LEDs in the bathroom make it impossible to put makeup on. The bedside lamps were dim and wobbly because they were DESK lamps, not made for tiny bedside tables. Everything was just "dark" in general. The wallpaper was peeling off the walls, our shower leaked, and the bed was soooo uncomfortable. It was also really hot and the thermostat was worthless, so a gigantic tall fan was provided (at least!) There was also a very weird, very large curtain in the room, and I'm still not exactly sure what that was for, since there was already a blackout shade on the window? It's really just terribly designed/laid out. Pros: A bottle of Prosecco was provided. The location in Grassmarket is cool, near Victoria Street. The staff was nice. Breakfast next door was pretty good. However, I would have preferred better amenities over a free bottle of booze and a couple of candy bars.

Staff were especially friendly and helpful. Bed was firm but comfortable. Room was not very clean and bathroom was less so. Dirt and stains in sink and floor around shower in bathroom. Floor in room was sticky. Sheets were clean. The area is lovely and I would recommend if location is your priority.

Perfect location for sightseeing in Edinburgh! Staff was so friendly and helpful. Great breakfast. Nice clean, comfortable rooms.

Hôtel pour étudiants mais pas pour couples d'adultes en voyage. Très bruyant (pub juste en dessous, avec cris et musique toute la nuit), Chambre minuscule (impossible si vous avez des grosses valises). Toilettes minuscules aussi, et pas propres. Et c'est un labyrinthe pour accéder aux chambres du 3ème, en passant par le 1er, puis plusieurs couloirs afin d'accéder à l'escaler pour les autres étages. Le seul point positif est l'emplacement. De plus, nous n'avons pas pu prendre nos breakfast (payé) car le vol partait à 9h20 ; pas de box proposé avec de quoi manger, alors que nous avions fait remarquer le problème.

Enjoyed my stay here and would stay again. Staff were really helpful. Expected alot of noise with bar next door and live music but had a really good nights sleep. Stayed midweek break.

Location was spot on for all things Royal Mile, friendly and helpful staff. Noise level was high however it was worth it for the location.

Die Zimmer sind sehr klein und nur ein Fenster konnteeinen Spalt weit geöffnet werden. Das Frühstück wurde in daneben gelegenen Pub serviert, allerdings waren die Speisen und Getränke dauernd angefordert werden. An 2 von 3 Nächten funktiudas Internet nicht. Lage war gut aber laut. Personal war sehr freundlich; Zimmerservice war gut und sauber.

Hotel was very good overall, the room was small but had everything we needed. Shower room was immaculately clean & very modern. The bar downstairs was very expensive.
