The tiles in the bathroom were cracked, not just one or 2 but whole sections. The shower was very dated to put it politely. The floor was extremely slippery if you used the shower. There were burn marks and stains on the floor and the furniture was spartan and looked like it wasn't in keeping with each other. The walls were blank and drab with no pictures or any colour to the room. Everything looked and felt well used and warn and not very clean. There was no air-conditioning just a very in effective one speed fan and I'm not sure if it achieved anything. The desk fan was covered in a white bin bag, great for stopping dust perhaps but looks bad. The room itself also only had two available plugs, including one for the kettle and neither was near the bed. The bed however was comfortable. The blind on the window looked basic and cheap and didn't do much to block out the security light which shone like a search light into the room as it covered the car park. Finally regardong the hotel, the decor of the hotel corridors reminded me of a nursing home and again looked, used, tired and dirty. The spa could have been nice however in the pool and particularly in the hydro pool there were more tiles missing (even being piled on the side) than there were in situ. Meaning the same issues of cleanliness were apparent but so two was a question of safety as many of the broken or spaces for missing tiles were Sharpe. All in all I have to say I was disappointed, I have been in more pleasant and welcoming hotel rooms which were cheaper and cleaner, including many that were very heavily used. The only reason for not complaint or report it was that we only stayed for a night, didn't spend a lot of time in the room although I wouldn't have wanted to and I wasn't even asked on check out if everything had been ok. With a major refurbishment and modernisation this could be lovely, but I'm afraid once bitten twice shy and I won't be staying again. I only gave 1 star because you can't leave 0
