Fulya Pension

The hotel location is beside Egirdir lake. It was cold and strong wind when we arrived in late of November. The breakfast is delicious and view outside is good.

Reception isn’t manned, but we eventually found someone who pleasantly checked us in ( we had received an e mail advising us of this and a phone number to WhatsApp on arrival, but we don’t travel with data roaming so this would have been difficult) the room 5 was cosy and comfortable although one side of the bed against a wall involving a climb into bed. Breakfast in the top terrace was lovely with great views.

The property is pet friendly which allowed me to bring my two cats.. I had a premium room which had an amazing view of the lake. The staff were very nice and helpful. The pension provided suhur and Iftar so I didn’t have to go searching and making reservations. Everything was good except that there were ants which seem to be an ongoing issue according to other comments. I had stayed in a different room a week earlier and that one had ants as well. Seems to be a seasonal issue. I understand that ants are difficult to get rid of but it can be a huge turn off for many. The other issue with this room was the sewer smell coming from the bathroom. My previous room didn’t have that. Also be aware that there are only 3/4 parking spaces out front. After that you park a block away and have to hike up an incline.

A truely characterful place with a genuine local feel to it. Views are great over the lake but would recommend trying to get a big room as possible. The rooms are quite outdated and in need of updating. The staires are steep and would not suit anyone with mobility issues. Evening meal is very good and served in Charlies next door. Breakfast is very good and served in the panoramic room at the top of Fulya. Parking is on the street nearby.

The hosts of the guesthouse are very hospitable. We were allowed a free late checkout. The breakfast was okay. The view from the room and the café was very nice. However, the room was in poor condition. There were leaks in the walls, and the plaster was peeling off the ceiling right above the bed, and the light fixtures were falling off the wall. But the worst thing was the condition of the windows. The plaster inside was peeling off, and a lot of ants were getting into the room. I was even bitten a couple of times. The guesthouse would be great if the room had been renovated at least a little, at least cosmetically, and if there were no ants.
