Kings Camp

What an amazing experience! The camp is beautiful, and our family suite was plenty of space for a family of four. Our guide, Cynet and tracker, Sunnyboy made every game drive an unforgettable experience. From spotting the big 5 on the very first day, to African wild dogs, on to a pride of lions tracking buffalo and seeing tiny lion cubs. The kids had an absolute blast, and I have never seen them so ready to be ready before sunrise. The food is exceptional and the staff goes out of its way to leave no stone unturned for your enjoyment. You will not be disappointed!

Kings Camp created an experience far above our expectations , and we are a very well traveled couple. From arrival to departure the entire staff went out of their way to make sure that all our needs were being fulfilled. The food was great, the service was great and the Safari game drives were beyond compare. Special kudos to Jason and Albert a Ranger and tracker team that might just be the industries best. Animal and bird recognition, tracking some elusive species and an expanded knowledge of animal habits, chemistry and even reproductive functions turned our game drives into a graduate course of animal history and biology.

Truly superb experience top to bottom. Accommodation stunning, quality of food fantastic, attention to detail and attention service first class & then there was the game drives - oh wow! Cyenit & Sonnyboy were brilliant, they ensured we saw everything we needed. Really skilled trackers & instinctively knew when something was likely to happen so would be patient not to move on too soon. Great at manoeuvring us into a position to get the vest shot. Informative & entertaining too.

Wonderfully situated in the kruger national park. Employees are so caring and will treat you like royalties. We are excited to have stayed here. Great safari twice a day. Our ranger is Cynet with tracker Sunnyboy. Wine. Beer and others all inclusive. Everyone speaks English so no need for interpretation. Food choices are variable. My husband really enjoyed his meal last night. Beautifully located in the middle of Kruger with updated technology. You can practically work from here too. Thank you folks for giving us an exceptional Exposure to the wild life.

The Cambridge English dictionary defines “safari” as an organized trip to look at wild animals especially in Africa. The only thing missing from that description is a picture of Kings Camp Private Game Reserve in the Timbavati Nature Reserve in northeast South Africa. We spent four days there in luxurious accommodations, taking morning and late afternoon excursions each day. There was never a shortage of surprises on each outing. Its location near Kruger National Park probably had something to do with that but our exceptional guide and tracker, Grant and Elvis, respectively, were consistently finding us new things to see. Grant happens to also be an assistant general manager and never disappointed us in explaining in detail the flora and fauna we came across. He and Elvis were sure to have us see the “Big Five Animals” by the end of our second day! The staff at the lodge were friendly, charming, and accommodating that certainly reflects the genuine interests in our stay by general managers, Warren and Lisha Moore and assistant general manager, Hayley Cooper. An extraordinary and unforgettable experience!

Our 8th visit to Kings Camp and still our favourite safari destination. Our guide Neil, and tracker Donald did a great job out in the bush and every member of staff back at the lodge is exceptional. The chef even made me a belated birthday cake which was a lovely surprise. We hope to return.

Just spent 3 nights with friends at the incredible Kings Camp. As previous we stayed in the honeymoon suite which is simply stunning. Had some incredible sitings on our game drives with our ranger Neil and tracker Donald, thanks guys. The food was simply unbelievable no matter what the meal. Thank to the chef and all waiting staff, you are all incredible. To all the front of house staff thank you for a hassle free stay, you also are amazing. Hopefully we'll get back at some point.

Upon arrival at Kings Camp you know you have come somewhere really special. The entry alone is stunningly decorated and welcome smiles and cool drinks to meet you. Hayley and Mfundo and other staff were all there to greet us and we had a wonderful chat. Instantly felt like home for our 5 day visit. I knew this place was special when I laid my eyes on it 5 years ago when we were originally coming prior to Covid. We were whisked away with a drink to lunch as we arrived a little late and then off on safari after meeting our guide Cynet and tracker Sunnyboy or "Eagle Eyes" as we called him. Such wonderful men with good hearts and eager to please. Many laughs were shared with them every day. We were blessed to see so much wildlife even on the first outing. Just brilliant and mind blowing. We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary here and were stunned by a private dinner on our balcony with Lodick and Robyn helping out. What can I say about the suites - MASSIVE!!! luxury unsurpassed. Decorated so well and elegantly. Nothing is unthought of, all you need is there and plenty of alcohol to wile away the hours after morning drive and relaxing inside or out in the pool or sundeck. The bed was to die for, only thing I didn't ask for was better pillows as I forgot - seriously a pillow menu out here!!! Meals are 5 star, too much at times but presented so well and so fresh. Michelin star food in our eyes. And different places every night to eat which keeps it interesting. Special shout out to all staff behind the scenes and up front - Lodick who was funny and always happy yo help us, Shaun in the restaurant, Charmaine in the bar (kept her busy haha), Rejoice who always kept our room so clean and beautiful. Robyn and Hayley, Neil and all other staff were awesome and I have to say a big thanks to the lovely chap who fixed my broken duffel bag!!! In summary before we wizz off to the next camp - please come here and breath it all in. Experience the wonder and awe of Kings Camp. You come as strangers but leave as family. Brilliant people who are living in the most wonderful part of the world

From the moment we were driven through the camp entrance and were warmly greeted by the Assistant Managers Grant and Hayley (the managers were themselves on a short holiday) we could tell we were in for a treat. Our bags were whisked away and we were given a tour of the property and the schedule explained to us. Our first safari experience and we didn’t know we had chosen the best (you scour the web and read reviews but it is always with a little apprehension when you first arrive). For all the staff to have a perfect mix of professionalism and friendliness is an achievement for management that deserves mention. And of course to the whole team themselves who I hope love their job as much as their outward display would suggest. We were lucky to see such a range of animals and situations over our 4 nights that leave us with many amazing lifelong memories. We felt lucky but it is most likely down to the skills of the rangers and trackers who work tirelessly to have you in the right places at the right times. Grant and Goodma were a great team and it really was a pleasure to benefit from their knowledge and eagle-eyes to spot all creatures great and small. Our lodge was amazing, the food was great and the service top-notch. At one point I wasn’t well and the care and attention was reassuring. There are many surprises along the way, which I will leave as just that. Safe to say I don’t believe we could’ve had a better experience at any other camp. A wonderful team of people who deserve continued success, both individually and as a business.
