Alberg Abat Oliba

The Alberg is inside the Montserrat Monastery Complex, where the Abbey is located, a more luxurious hotel, some places to eat and a few shops. That's where the trails come from and that's where everything happens. As for the room, don't forget that it's a hostel, so there's no one to make the bed or change towels. We arrive, make our own bed and go to fight. It is basic and doesn't even have soap, just toilet paper, towels and bed linen. Everything very clean. It's good to be aware of this and take your makeup bag. Our room (2306) had two single beds, which together made a very large and very comfortable bed. I don't know why we were given a bigger room and this one had a wooden divider behind the beds with two bunk beds behind it. It had a small table with four chairs and a bar fridge. But my friend's room didn't have a fridge, so I think in our case it was because there were supposedly more people using the same room, since there were four beds. My friend's had a table with two chairs only. The breakfast is excellent, self service of the best quality, with a lot of variety of options, fruits, coffees, breads, cakes, etc... Really good. In summary, if we went back we would stay in the same place and if possible in the same room

A great place...a great experience. A very cultural and enriching place. Ideal to go with the whole family and have moments of meditation and reflection. Not everything has to be a pool and a beach...

Hôtel très correct, idéalement situé pour profiter du lieu tranquillement. Possibilité de faire plein de randonnées autour. Les chambres sont spacieuses avec beaucoup de rangements. La vue sur le monastère et le paysage autour est agréable. Possibilité de garer la voiture sur le parking du monastère 6.50€ les 24h. Si on a beaucoup de bagages on peut amener la voiture jusque devant l'hôtel (la personne qui filtre les entrées est gentille et compréhensive) . L'enregistrement se fait à l'hôtel sous le monastère et le petit déjeuner se prend a la cafétéria. L'hôtel dispose d'une cuisine avec four MO et salle à manger a disposition si on le souhaite

The hostel is fine. The family room where we stayed was adequate but not very clean. The kitchen space was closed and we had to pay a supplement of €20 to use it. The beds were not made and the children's bunk beds were very difficult to access in order to make them, because you only entered through the feet.

At first I was really scared because of the previous reviews. But I had apprehensions for nothing. It's not a 5 star and that's obvious. But the hotel is not in ruins either. The room is quite spacious, quite a bit of storage and I was worried that bed linens weren't provided but they were. You just have to make your bed and it didn't bother me, on the contrary, so you don't find unknown hair! The smell in the room bothered me a little, I felt like I was in a hospital. But once the window is open, we understand the choice of this accommodation and we forget everything else. The common area with fridge, hotplates and microwave top. Too bad there are no toilets in this space. There is no laundromat and this is really a negative point. Breakfast then there wasn't a gargantuan choice but it was a decent breakfast with the necessities to feed a normal person. Just a smile from the person receiving us at breakfast would have been nice. The big black spot the Check-in you have to go to the hotel which is inside the monastery. Really hassle when you don't know. It is also a pity that hotel residents cannot park nearby. But I understand the reasons.
