Hotel Rural Ohana

The hotel itself is lovely and well suited to families with young children. The rooms are good and the surroundings are good. Where it doesn’t hit the mark is a few things: food from the restaurant is expensive and “okay” - there is only one menu with limited options, particularly for vegetarians. The staff try their best during meal times and with a smile but are under staffed and hindered by a lack of English which thwarted lots of international guests. Then there are the rules - lots of them about what you can and can’t do. You only find out about them when you arrive and are asked to sign for them. I hope the cleaners enjoy the make up that when missing during our stay.

This is a lovely nature hotel outside of La Laguna and Santa Cruz on the gorgeous road that goes up to Mt Teide. I would highly recommend coming here after staying at the South side of the island, when you’re tired of the heat, and stay here for 2 or 3 nights. Having said this, spending a whole week here would be divine for true nature lovers! Apart from the hotel’s gorgeous natural setting in a pine forest, you are near the Tacoronte/Sauzal area with lots of wineries, La Laguna UNESCO city, Santa Cruz, and you can do more than one trip to Mt Teide. I stayed in room 1 and although I don’t usually like duplexes, the room was fantastic. It had a nice sitting area and fully stocked mini bar and coffee machine downstairs, and a lovely bedroom, bathroom with jacuzzi, and bio amenities upstairs. The breakfast area is great, and it feels as though you’re having a nice picnic. They have a sunbathing area by an outdoor jacuzzi, and then a pool area and a kids play area perfect for young families. The staff were very professional, well-presented, and very enthusiastic to host guests. I can’t wait to return for a romantic nature-based trip with my partner complete with lots of hiking and a photography led tour of Mt. Teide.

We had a great stay ! The place is really nice & very convenient for families. It’s quite intimate, we really like that. It feels like we were in a secret place, an hidden gem.

This is a wonderful little hotel in the forest overlooking the mountain side and ocean at a distance. An absolute gem! Super friendly staff and fantasticly relaxing atmosphere. Strongly recommend! The kids also loved it.
