Poseidon's Inn

This Inn is situated in a nice location at the edge of a golf course in Lossiemouth. It is also on The Moray Firth/North Sea, so it was very nice to go walking along the beach and the waterfront in the evening. Very peaceful. There is no reception desk or area in this Inn. You obtain your room key from a lockbox outside the front door. You receive your lockbox code via email. This was an easy process, even with it being our first time encountering this type of check-in process. Our room was spacious, the beds were comfortable. The building is old, thus the rooms are old and could perhaps do with a touch of cosmetic renos. But, we only mention that in this Review, we didn't feel it's a big priority, nor is it a complaint. With it being a no frills Inn, there is, of course, no breakfast. It felt odd to not have a staff member present incase we needed something or had questions, but it worked and we have no complaints.

We stayed at the Poseidon the stuff where very helpful nothing too much trouble. They went out of their way to guidance around different parts of Lossiemouth. Everything really good. Debbie got us two fantastic rooms for my wife and I and there are two friends top marks to the stuff fantastic views we had a lovely time.

We ended up at Poseidon’s Inn after another hotel cancelled our reservation. What a delight. This spot is a “self-catering” hotel. There is only staff on the premises from 9-5. Room cleaning only upon request. It seems to have been recently renovated and that some final touches are still in process. It sits on a golf course on the ocean. It is a quick walk down to the East Beach Esplanade for beach walking, food and fun. There are also many take away restaurants in the area. This little Lossiemouth is a hidden gem. This property is extremely affordable and a great value. It was clean, and comfortable.

Great value for money, clean and huge room with stunning views across the golf course to the sea, easy self check in, would stay again and recommend. About 20 minutes walk to East Beach which was amazing.

Just back from a couple of nights visiting relatives in Lossiemouth. Stayed this time in the Poseidon's Inn and was happy to do so. Clearly a lot of money has gone into to converting the building. The room was large, clean and modern. The bathroom was also large. Television had Netflix which we didn't use but a useful extra. Meals are available at a discount next door at the Golf View or a continental breakfast can be delivered to your room if ordered the day before. Check in was via a keybox and checkout just a matter of dropping the keys off in a box. Will definately be using this again for our next visit. Great views over the golf course from our room

It was cancelled by the hotel as they closed their doors! Gone bust?? We had no experience no expectations Just disappointed not to have gone as the location was what we were looking for Paid nothing experienced nothing So will never know how good or bad it was!!!

I stayed at the Poseidon's Inn for 7 nights in mid-July. Middle aged male, travelling alone, with a requirement for functional accommodation providing a comfortable bed to rest my head at night, decent bathroom facilities and a small desk at which I could sit and work when necessary. I stayed in Room 6, a single room with en-suite shower facilities. The room was perfect for my needs, the single bed was comfortable with two large pillows. Storage space was ample including integrated drawers under the bed along with a small "open plan" wardrobe with drawers, hanging space and shelves. The "bathroom" was in fact a wetroom with a spacious shower area, small sink and toilet. No frills, basic, but clean, bright and perfectly adequate. A decent sized table was also in the bedroom with enough space to read or work at a laptop. A good sized fridge that I was able to fill with plenty of bottled water, beer, fruit etc. was provided. A Given my basic requirements it is hard to find fault with my room. Perhaps the only negatives are that the internal walls are thin and noise travelled easily from the next room, and for what it offers in terms of facilities, £65 per night is at the top end of what might be con reasonable...but in truth I've paid more for less in other places. So in summary I'd say my room at the Poseidons Inn was good basic comfortable accommodation, well maintained and serviced and ideally located for those wishing to explore Lossiemouth and the surrounding areas.

Excellent location, Excellent accommodation,Excellent service. Just a thought, read plenty of comments about dirty carpets, wonder if complainers walk about their own properties with outdoor shoes on. Room needs new kettle other than that stay was great, will return. Barry W Mactaggart
