Riverside Inn

Stayed in room 5 which is a good sized room with a lovely view down the river. Location is excellent has a pub and a superb restaurant virtually next door. Also 5 mins from the station and less than 10 mins to the centre of town. Great free parking out the back but there is so much free parking in Ely ( virtually every car park is free!) that finding somewhere to park should not be a problem anyway. Contact by owners prior to arrival was great and we had an early "check in" which was perfectly organised. The staff at breakfast were brilliant and went the extra mile for my wife who is vegan by supplying her with Soya Milk, 2 types of vegan cheese and vegan spread all to herself! Would highly recommend and would definitely stay there again next time we visit this lovely city.

Have just spent the night here 21/5 Room 4 , it’s a single bed and the bathroom is across the landing. A few things wrong…. Light bulb out… the Only cup had lipstick on it from the last person! There is NO won on site. It took me quite a long time to get into the place, but when I did I was very surprised. The room although small was very nice. Breakfast was very good indeed. All together well worth a stop ..

The Inn was spotless and very comfortable. We had a slight problem entering as our stay had been booked by my Father who had the entry code on an email he hadn’t checked and I hadn’t thought about. Eventually the lady on the intercom relented and finally gave us the entry code after checking our surname. Very good security! The breakfast room was lovely and the food was excellent. Perfectly placed for beautiful views and car parking fine. We had a ground floor room which was perfect for my 83 year old Mother but the bath shower was a problem for her.

Very comfortable stay with excellent breakfast. If you book the single room, it has bathroom for sole use (described as 'private bathroom'), not en-suite. However, it was very clean and fine. The bathroom light is inclined to plunge you into darkness if you stay in there too long - a conventional pull switch might be a more practical (though less elegant) solution than the electronic pushbutton!

Our room number 1 was very comfortable, spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished. However using the shower was hazardous for older people as there was no grab rail to hold onto. The TV was OK on BBC but other channels were not stable and itv wasn't watchable. Breakfast was nice but only scrambled eggs which neither of us can eat it would have been nice to have fried or poached. Otherwise we enjoyed our two night stay.

We had a really lovely weekend

Small quiet hotel . The pubs and restaurants,city-within easy walk. Free parking but busy so don’t bank on getting a space close to the hotel. Breakfast is included and self service but limited choice if you like a full English.

Last minute stay due to a family issue. Booking was simple, the room stunning and such a comfortable bed! Breakfast next morning was everything you could require, well presented and overseen by a wonderfully happy and polite host. All at a very very reasonable price ....I will certainly be back. Many thanks.
