Positives: Good location at English Harbour Nice gardens and pool area The suite we had was more than big enough for the 3 of us. The room itself is a nice space. Negatives: Expensive and represents very poor value for money. We only stayed one night thankfully. Nobody there to meet you when you check in so onus is on the customer to find a member of staff or call them on the number provided. Couldn’t get to breakfast - we were told there was a boat to take us across but no boat arrived. We then had to drive around to get to the breakfast location. They also charged us for a bottle of Aqua Pana at breakfast when my daughter only wanted a small glass. We ate at Pillars for dinner which was extremely uninspiring. The spare ribs were as tough as old boots. The meal cost around $85 for three main courses and two drinks. The A/C in the bedroom was ineffective and the screen was broken so you were unable to see what settings it was on. The bed sheets were old and a long way from white. The towels were slightly better but only big enough for a hobbit. The shower unit was simply a piece of glass, but given how weak the water was I guess this was just about adequate. Overall, I just can’t understand why there are so many positive reviews on this place. Even by Antigua standards it is way overpriced.

Lovely peaceful period property with great restaurants and friendly service. Pillers and Boom both served great food with friendly service. Also easy walk into town for local restaurants. Highly recommended for something different to the resort hotels elsewhere on the island.

We absolutely loved the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is brilliant with lots of restaurants close by as well the world heritage site, Nelson Docks. The rooms are beautiful with great views We are so pleased we have found this paradise place in Antigua!

We booked this hotel as we wanted 5 quiet days before moving to an all inclusive resort in the north. This is the most amazing place, so relaxed and chilled and the staff made us feel so welcome. Our room was exactly as we saw it on the web site. Large and cool with a massive bathroom and wonderful balcony with beautiful views. The pool area is very cool with sun-beds and cabanas and towels are provided. There is a great restaurant (Boom) next to the pool which is open to guests and general public alike so booking is strongly recommended as it is very popular. Food is really good albeit a little expensive. But you are paying for the fabulous location. All of the staff in particular Melinda & Chenise were so attentive and relaxed. It was a wonderful stay and wouldn’t hesitate to come again. Food is not included which makes you do a little wandering which is really good. Lots of amazing local restaurants a 5 minute stroll away.

Stayed in one of the Gunpowder House suites for a few nights at the tail-end of our trip. Beautiful, beautiful spot in the English Harbour! Close enough to enough restaurants, bars, and beaches that you can walk; secluded location makes it feel special and not crowded at all. Couldn't have been happier!!

Delightful, outstanding rooms with views and worth every penny. Heaven on earth. I’ve written my main review under admirals inn so please read that for full details. The views are stunning. Rooms have everything you need. Large fridge so bring g&t from home!

We are just about to leave this lovely hotel From the moment you arrive you feel relaxed and looked after We stayed in room PM1 which is gorgeous. We have a window on both side so amazing views. The food has been delicious. Hence why we have eaten to much To get to the restaurant for breakfast it’s on the other side of the water so you just ding the bell by the Jetty and a little boat comes and gets you. Lovely way to start the day. I’m not particularly a boat person but it has been nice watching them come in and out of the dock Will definitely be returning Thanks for making our holiday special

Such a beautiful spot. Fantastic staff, great spa treatments, lovely food. Shame we had to move rooms because the night club across the water decided to go for it until 6am. But we were very happy that the hotel helped us move. We had a mix up on check out with bill etc which was a little frustrating after such a lovely stay. Thanks for having us!
