It is completely different from the nearby Burgenstock Hotel & Resort - Waldhotel & Spa. From the topography to the facilities to the services, it is like All Seasons and Four Seasons.

Restaurant visit: we were fairly regular visitors to the restaurant and were there with friends from the USA: dry guinea fowl breast with practically no sauce, veal fillet also dry, too cold and over-fried, no sauce! Even drier after reheating, still no sauce despite the promise! What a pity! We don't need any more! What happened to the supervising management here?

We didn't think the Junior Suite was justified for the price of CHF 1600. The rooms are much too small and worn. They urgently need renovation. There are scratches on the walls everywhere. Nobody seems to really pay attention to the infrastructure. For 25 minutes (we're not exaggerating) no one from the service came to ask about our order (lunch). The poor girl from the service was all alone and completely overwhelmed. The food was OK but no wonder. SPA, biggest flop of all time. The view is absolutely gigantic. Unfortunately, there are only a few loungers in the SPA itself. There was no room for us as hotel guests. We went outside to the pool once and then straight back to the room. Everything always looks so great on the stairs but we were a bit shocked at how small the SPA actually is. Dinner was also rather slow. The food was OK, the service was overwhelmed again as it was understaffed. Our conclusion: the hotel lives off the Instagram hype. For us, the stay was disappointing. The hotel is definitely not in the same league as the Bürgenstock or the Park Hotel Vitznau.

I spend a lot of time traveling in Switzerland and have stayed in many of the famous grand hotels over the years, however I really must say Villa Honegg tops all of their larger rivals and really made an impression on me. This place is just perfection, from the incredible view, to the delicious inventive food, to the spa and zero l-edge pool overlooking the lake, to the expert discrete service, no detail here is overlooked and every possible need is anticipated and delivered with a smile. I am spoiled as I don’t think I’ll be able to stay anywhere else now when I’m passing through the Luzern/Vierwaldstattersee area, this is a truly serene and special place that immediately feels like home.

We could not have had a better stay! The staff went above and beyond for my wife who turned 40 while we were there. The view from the hotel and pool is just stunning, never experienced a better view! Everything from the rooms to the breakfast and dinner was superb. One of the evenings we went for dinner at Bürgenstock and by recommendation from our reception we started with a drink at their lake lounge. When we arrived the staff at Bürgenstock was already aware of my wife's birthday and also tried to make it as good as possible and gave us the best table. This place is very unique and is of course a place we would like to visit again!

Small room, dirty chair, black hairs in the bathroom, bed right next to the bathroom or toilet, which can only be closed with a sliding door. No cleaning in the evening, guests have to do it themselves, and it costs 1300 francs a night. The room was ice cold. An extra 40 francs for the dog and no basket was provided for the dog! No service in the spa. A building with no decoration on the outside but a magnificent view. No bar to relax in, just a sterile, empty restaurant at the end.
