The property is praised for its cleanliness, varied breakfast buffet, and prime location near a lake with access to outdoor activities. Staff are noted for their friendliness and multilingual communication. However, prices are considered high, particularly in peak season.

The hotel has charging stations, and the independent cabins are really recommended for staying. The environment is super good, and there is a snowy view of the big forest behind it.

The hotel has very good breakfast and nice and friendly service. The location is good for Hetta village but the location of Hetta is a little far from everywhere including activities. The view from the hotel is beautiful and there are also charging stations for electric cars with relatively cheap rates.

During our stay at Hotel Hetta in Finland we were treated to a beautiful view over the large, frozen river Ounasjärvi that immediately captured our hearts. The first impression was breathtaking and this positive experience was only enhanced by the warm welcome and excellent service from the friendly staff. The rooms were decent and comfortable with good quality beds, which ensured a wonderful night's sleep. The food in the hotel was a real treat; neat and tidy with an impressive variety, making every meal a delight. The hotel also provides use of a Finnish sauna and an indoor swimming pool with panoramic views, which we would describe as an extra nice experience. The facilities are well maintained and provided perfect relaxation after a day of activities. The hotel's location is unbeatable, ideal for exploring nearby attractions such as the Pyhakero snowshoe trek to the Jyppyra lookout. Or for activities such as the snowmobile safari across frozen lakes and open plains, the husky safari through a fairytale environment with a visit to the husky farm, the nighttime search for the Northern Lights on a snowmobile and a visit to a local reindeer farm where the animals could also be fed. One by one adventures that we will never forget. In addition, within walking distance of the hotel, we also interacted with local craftsmen in their work studios (artworks on antlers) and in their Finnish 'kota' (hut), as used by the indigenous Sami people. There we sat around a central fire and were allowed to taste traditional Finnish drinks and dishes, prepared by the super friendly 'Emäntä' (hostess). This way we gained a unique insight into Finnish culture. A special mention also to the guides, Fred and Peter, whose expertise, friendliness and fascinating stories made the activities extra special. Their knowledge and passion for the environment were infectious and enriching. All in all, Hotel Hetta is an excellent choice for anyone wanting to experience the north of Finland. With its excellent facilities, friendly staff and an unbeatable location that provides easy access to a range of outdoor activities, this hotel is highly recommended. It was an unforgettable stay that exceeded our expectations, and we would without a doubt recommend it to others looking for an adventure in the beauty of Finnish nature.

I think I may just be in love with the landscape but this was one of two hotels that I really enjoyed during my visit to the region. Regarding style, the decor is certainly vintage but not worn out, giving it a real Wes Anderson vibe of pine and carpet. My room had a view over the lake and was nice and spacious. The only fault with my room (101) was a very loud buzzing ***** light over the window but I didn’t use it so it didn’t spoil the stay. The sauna and pool are a great addition, with the sauna operating from 4pm (I seem to remember) and the pool chilly but invigorating. The restaurant buffet was decent at €35 with plenty of options. After the meal, it was great to take a wander back down into the nearby town to burn off the calories.

It was very fun and the bus took us to all the things we wanted to see, the pool was cold tho. But that did not matter because the sauna was great. We went to see a lot of things and there is here a skiing place close to the hotel. You can also go shop for groceries but it does take half an hour to get there but the walking is not bad because the nature is beautiful.

Nice hotel on the lake. Great location for short or long walks. Delicious and very extensive breakfast and dinner buffet. Very friendly and willing service-oriented staff. Simple room with the bathroom requiring some renovation.

We travelled with Tui for 4 nights in December and stayed in a bungalow over the road from the hotel. The bungalow was very warm and clean and adequate as you do not spend very long in them. The only problem was the TV if you want to relax in your own space after an hectic day there are no English channels and only 5 local ones. The WiFi did not work in the bungalows which our grandchildren were upset about, they soon got used to the idea 😀 there was good access in the main building. The meals at the hotel were very good we were half board and could not fault them at all. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The Tui reps were amazing. We would definitely return to Hetta.

I visited this hotel with my 8 year old daughter as part of a TUI Lapland experience. This review focuses just on the hotel, although the overall Tui experience was excellent. The half board food was good. Nice food, good quality and variety. The bar drinks were quite expensive (£8 for a 500ml beer), but that is generally the case in Finland. The hotel was always warm and clean. There's a pool table, sauna and swimming pool. The pool is a cold pool. Freezing in fact, so not suitable for young kids. About 10 minutes walk from the hotel is a supermarket. In a similar distance in the other direction is a ski slope, which was unused at the time I visited, meaning it could be used for sledging. Outside the back of the hotel is a lake, which was frozen over and could be walked on. The room was basic but clean and pleasant. TV, fridge and lots of storage space. WiFi throughout the hotel. Some rooms had saunas in. Getting an apar**ent with a mini kitchen was also an option. These were over the road from the hotel. Hetta is a small and remote village. It made for a relaxing yet fun Lapland experience. There were only around 35 guests in total for the TUI package, which meant a small and friendly group whose kids played with each other and made friends. The photos are the northern lights from the lake. And the hotel in the distance from across the frozen lake.

What a fantastic experience! We stayed for 4 nights at Hetta hotel in bungalow A. The bungalows are located opposite main hotel building. They are spacious, lovely and warm. Nice hot shower, everything needed to self cater if you wish - kettle, toaster, oven, hob, fridge freezer and microwave. Food at the hotel is outstanding, there's always something for the children (e.g. chicken nuggets and chips) and a special diet section too. Water available at meal times or drinks payable at the bar (to give an idea most beers and spirits are around €8 per glass). The staff are fantastic and make the stay extra special. Oli, jinglebobs, dasher dan, gingerbread Gina, Chris**as cookie katie - you're all amazing, so hard working, and made our stay so special - thankyou!! Taster sessions are perfect 👌 such a magical day! We did the snowmobile excursion over the lake which was awesome! The village is a 15 min walk there's a supermarket and a few souvenir shops. The sledging slopes are 5 min walk in opposite direction and there's a lovely visitors centre with cafe there to warm up in. We were lucky enough to see the Northern lights twice too, such a fantastic experience we'll never forget! Tips; Take hand and feet warmers on taster day and excursions Take a teatowel No WiFi in bungalow Check board in main hotel for timings daily Register for Northern light sightings by adding your room number to the board (staff will knock on your room to let you know the lights are out up until midnight) Thankyou to everyone at Hetta hotel for giving us family memories which will last forever, wishing you all a very merry Chris**as! Xxx
