Muthu Glasgow River Hotel

Well what can I say? I highly advise you DO NOT order a spa day for two from Groupon for this hotel! You buy it, then when you try to phone the hotel to book, the receptionist continuously puts you through to the spa, where the phone is never answered! Any voicemail you may leave is IGNORED, the reception staff are completely unhelpful when you phone them back to tell them about the problem, then try to put you through to the spa AGAIN, while you’re still talking! I phoned, I complained to a receptionist, I asked to hear back from a manager, and I emailed the establishment, and NOTHING happened. Then when I phoned back one more time I discovered they aren’t even doing SPA treatments just now due to refurbishment?! Why are the hotel selling vouchers?! And why had no one told me this the first million times I tried to get through! So you’re paying money for a Spa day, and all you would get at the very most just now would be a dip in the pool with no treatments. My biggest issue is the staff and managements complete disregard for customer service and professionalism, ignoring several requests for answers. I won’t be back to this hotel, not if you can’t even speak to a coherent person at the reception never mind anywhere else. I won’t buy any further vouchers online either before phoning the hotel up first and finding out if their spa is actually open, not that you should have to, if that’s what they’re advertising! Poor treatment of customers and poor service in every aspect. Sham. Luckily I managed to get a refund from Groupon, which almost never happens, so I’m guessing they’ve had more complaints along the same line.

I was meant to have a nice enjoyable spa day with my friend for my birthday here at Muhtu, Erskine…my friend had kept on phoning to check that the spa/leisure facilities were all operational prior to our visit there on Tuesday to be told everything was fine … then we arrived to a very dated, health hazard of a place! (Lifts not operational, tables sticky, corridor walls and carpets wet and foul smelling-just to list a few!) We were told “we should have had a phonecall” and the spa manager said “it wasn’t his fault as he was off on holiday.” We we’re then made to wait a further 10 minutes until another manager arrived, only to be given the biggest & well practised “going to fob you off now by pretending to completely understand your issue” speech yet! My friend was told they’d email Wowcher-they haven’t-the manager said she would contact my friend to confirm all action had been taken-she hasn’t….DO NOT GO as it’s well below par on all counts including customer courtesy!!

Hotel from hell. Worst place to stay and just about to be filled with 200 + boat visitors from over the channel. Do not stay here and avoid at all costs. If you want to stay in a poor mans faulty towers the thia ia the place. You'd be better staying in a cardboard box.

I booked and paid for this hotel back in February. After travelling 300 miles I found that the hotel was CLOSED. They did not inform me of this or refund me. Somebody was on site who recommended a nearby hotel which was very expensive but had no choice after a long drive. I have sent several emails asking for a refund but still have NOT received one almost two months later. This is an utter disgrace and very poor customer service. Also fraudulent as I have paid for a service that I did not receive. I will NEVER book this or any other Muthu hotel again...

Company is Fraud and run by International people. They have taken money for my Group reservation and I am trying to call them for my refund. They blocked my number. People beware of this company as they are working here by taking the money and disappeared. They are building money by robbing people. I was about to stay in March but when I arrived staffs were telling No Health & Safety Compliances. Fire alarm was disconnected from inside the panel so that they no need to spend money. We straight away gone from the Hotel. According to the staffs working there, this MGM company is full of Fraud people and staffs ae all international brought in UK to rob people. Disgrace to be in UK business. Beware Guysss...dont fall into the Trap.

Muthu Erskine Bridge booked us in for a wedding event and cancelled a few days later after taking our deposit of £500. After repeatedly contacting the manager Jason and the Events manager Lisa. They have lied and lied excuse after excuse. They have now blocked our numbers and refusing to respond. This Muthu MGM Is a total fraudulent company. Avoid any bookings with them. Still awaiting a response as of 5/7/22.

We booked a 2 night stay, Sat/Sun, but with days to go we were called by the Hotel to say our Sat night booking was cancelled due to "over booking". It transpires on the Sat night, they had a tribute band booked, and after several emails and calls, it looks like they cancelled the cheaper bookings in favour of the higher priced ones?? Although they told us they could still put us up on the Sun. We have been trying since May to get a refund but the hotel despite promising they have not refunded our money for the Sun. It seems the hotel must have financial problems and or Management that think they can do what they like either with bookings or people's money?? I have tried to contact Mutha/ MGM but they seem to not respond either? It's a company we will steer well clear of in the future as Customer service and ethics does not seem to be a priority for this hotel or the Group

Thankfully I had checked people's reviews here a week before my stay only to find that apparently the hotel was closed for refurbishment. SURELY they wouldn't leave it up to third party sites to contact everyone staying, they would be able to see that my booking was still in their system??? I work in reservations and I am honestly shocked that this could happen and now I have had to book a hotel further away and fork out for expensive taxis. So disappointing and would not consider booking again once they are reopened. Would they have let me turn up this week as my booking was still confirmed as far as I knew???

I have had this hotel booked for months and recieved an email this morning from *********** advising the property had cancelled my booking with absolutely no explanation given. When I emailed the hotel they advised they had decided to close to refurb. The issue I have is its just over a month until the booking, we were staying due to a wedding in the area and now there are no other hotels in the area. This has affected alot of other people who had the same plans as us. If you are gonna be ridiculous enough to refurb in a busy summer month, then give your guests more notice, you dont just plan a 12 week refurb overnight, they are bound to have known for a while. Terrible service, shocking communication, seriously annoyed by this.
