Such a wonderful and welcoming feeling at Bandalong Cottages. The attention to detail is amazing. Done in such a beautiful way it makes the cottage feel so homely and comfortable, beds and linen beautiful. The surrounding property showcases the natural wilderness and opportunity to watch and listen to the wildlife or stargazing at night, with the thoughtful picnic hamper and binoculars. Highly highly recommended..

I expected the cottage to be nice, but didn't expect to feel so at home right away. They have thought of everything you need to make our stay peaceful, relaxing and wanting to return again and again. We enjoyed a BBQ dinner on the deck listening to old time music, drinking local wines. Who could ask for more! Can't wait to return in the cooler months, to try out the fireplace and cosy night in and explore more of Mudgee region.

Bandalong Cottages Mudgee are the ultimate destination for anyone wanting to chill and feel totally spoilt just a few short minutes from Mudgee. From the moment we arrived we were instantly relaxed and chose to spend 2 nights out of our 3 night stay at home at the cottages cooking dinner with amazing local produce. The location is serene with no traffic noise. The cottages are extremely comfortable and luxurious. Mudgee has an enormous amount to offer and we found Bandalong Cottages the perfect spot to enjoy Mudgee from. Make sure you also check out ClayCat Pottery on site. We wished we could have stayed longer.

My friends and I decided we needed to see more of NSW and headed to Mudgee . We had Bandalong cottages recommended and they did not disappoint . A well appointed cottage in a fabulous location close to all the region has to offer . The fabulous hosts made sure we had everything we needed and recommended great must see sights . We loved the cottage and sitting on the verandah watching the wildlife . A fabulous experience that I can’t recommend enough . Thank you for a wonderful 4 days .

My friends had told me how good Bandalong was but until you go yourself you never now for sure. But they were right. Lovely cottages, comfortable beds (very important when you are 6'4" and 100kgs), great peaceful location, but only a couple of minutes in to town. The cottages are so well appointed and being there in spring the flowers and butterflies were lovely as we sat on the deck enjoying a drink. Diana & Catherine gave us some great recommendations on where to go and where to eat (Blue Wren was fabulous). Plus we had great weather for our kayaking. Dunns Swamp is so pretty. We will be back.

Our third visit to Mudgee and Bandalong was as wonderful as ever. The peace if the bush, passing wildlife, the night sky are all real treats for city dwellers. As other reviewers have said, the cottages are very clean and comfortable. The few excellent restaurants in Mudgee are booked out well in advance and opening hours can make eating out a challenge. (Try Sunday evening for example). This where Bandalong cottages come into their own. The cottages are superbly equipped, making it possible to cook or barbecue properly ‘at home’ and escape the dreaded microwaved pizza! The first weekend of December is the Mudgee Cup - great fun and a highlight of the social calendar. Unusually this year, and unbeknown to locals and visitors alike, the Mudgee Cup (a highlight of the social scene) required prepurchased tickets, sold out long before race day. So disappointing having travelled from Sydney and interstate. But then, to ensure we got there, our hostess Diana used her network to find us tickets so our race gear didn’t go unused. It’s typical of her hospitality and kindness.

We cannot recommend Bandalong Cottages enough. We had three blissful nights in Stringybark Cottage and loved it. From the welcome sample of local Shiraz to the cosy throws and furnishings to the wonderfully quirky but homely decor, this place has everything you need for a relaxing break. Books, games, DVDs and puzzles will help while away your time in front of that lovely wood fire. Even the wood is provided. Supremely comfortable beds. All the kitchen bits you’ll need and then some. Binoculars for bird watching and star gazing (that night sky!). Host Di popped in to check all was OK. We’ll be back when the weather is warmer and we can park ourselves on that verandah. Can’t wait.

We spent 3 nights at Bandalong Cottages in Mudgee. From the minute we walked into the cabin, the attention to detail was clear. The cabin was immaculate, the beds were extremely comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked and plenty of firewood was provided for the slow combustion fireplace which heated the whole cabin easily. Our hosts had thought of everything. They were determined to ensure we had everything we needed whilst giving us the privacy and peace we wanted. The property is only minutes from the centre of Mudgee yet it is nestled in beautiful bushland on 30 acres. Each cabin has excellent privacy from the others and there are kangaroos and deer roaming the property.

We stayed at Bandalong cottages for four nights in July 2022, after two postponements due to the 2021 lockdowns. It was well worth the wait. What a gem! I hesitate to write this review as I am tempted to keep this address to myself, but that would not be fair to the wonderful owners. Communication at all stages of the booking was great. Bandalong cottages are for nature lovers and those who want to enjoy some peceful and quiet time in the bush. The vast property is a few minutes out of Mudgee town centre but very close by car. The wildlife is abundant: we saw kangaroos and many different types of birds. There is no wifi and very limited mobile reception on the property, which suited us but might not suit everyone. (Even our teenager saw the benefits of it!) However, you can watch TV, there is a wonderful collection of books, DVDs and Cds (loved the music selection!). Or just look up at night to discover the magnificent skies and constellations if you are lucky enough to be there on clear nights, like us. This is truly spectacular. Our cottage was beautifully appointed, tastefully decorated (the family is clearly very talented and artistic) and warm thanks to the great logfire. The owners have thought of everything, even a booklet of vouchers with discounts in various local wineries and shops. Mudgee and surrounds offer much to see and taste! It was a truly cherished holiday for all of us, a family of four, and our dog, and we hope to be back soon. Thank you again very much Diane and Catherine and all the very best from us.
