Quality Inn Escondido Downtown

Service and breakfast- The staff was friendly. The breakfast was good- waffle, eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit, cereal, juice, coffee. The breakfast has to be picked up in the lobby and taken to your room to eat. This is not a good option for anyone traveling with a family. The room does not have a table, just a desk with one chair. So everyone else has to either eat standing or sit on the floor. Room- The room had comfortable beds and looked clean, but my socks told a very different story after walking on the tile ground for 20 minutes. (The bottoms of my socks were black). Bathroom- the toilet did not flush all the way unless you held the handle down until it was done. The shower had a several worn out spots on the bottom. The handle to turn on the shower had reverse controls. The handle had to be pointing to cold to get the hot water. Parking- It was hard to get into as you could only access the lot from one spot that was close to a traffic light. Once inside the parking lot there was plenty of places to park. Unexpected fees- In addition to the deposit they tell you about, they also require a $2 per night, per person cleaning fee. For children the night cleaning fee goes up to $10.

The room was not clean for sure.But the service and the parking was good.

I love the hardwood floors and the bed is always clean and comfortable.

The sheets smell

Breakfast was surprisingly good. They just don't have any seating area to have breakfast. However, staff was very polite and accommodating.

The rooms felt a bit old and dingy, and the breakfast the offered was okay but we weren't allowed to eat it there, so it felt like we were pushed out to go eat in the car or somewhere else.

This is a terrible hotel. While rooms are decent size, everything else is bad. The worst part is staffs’ attitude. It has “to-go breakfast” which has literally nothing: the eggs tasted liked hot cardboard (I spit it out; must be bad and frozen); there’s no bread, no bagels and no muffins. Plus you get literally insulted to get the breakfast. They ask you coupon provided to you the first day, which they take it first time. Now you need to ask coupon each day. Also, terrible location. I regretted immediately but had paid all so had to stay all days.

The area the hotel is located feels unsafe. I arrived at the hotel for check-in. While waiting in line for check-in I noticed an individual walking around the parking lot. He walked around my vehicle and was attempting to look inside my vehicle. My wife and child were inside the vehicle and felt unsafe. Our reservation was not refundable. We decided not to spend the night at this property as we felt our safety was more important than the lost reservation.
