On arrival the hotel looked lovely. The pool is the best part of the hotel. Had activities during the day in the pool and by the pool side. Only had breakfast included however was pretty descent and a lot of option. Pastries were fantastic. On the other hand the hot food wasn’t hot. The few let downs are the staff are incredibly rude towards us and a few other couples we had met. Didn’t speak much English to also very difficult to order food or drinks. It was a shame about entertainment as no one spoke a word of english. Our rooms AC was very poor. Didn’t work well at all. Our room also needs a revamp as it’s looking old and worn. The bedroom door didn’t shut properly.. most of the sun beds by the pool side was broken. Had to try and find a few that wasn’t. The cleaning staff didn’t at all clean our rooms. The floor hadn’t been hoovered or swept the whole time we was here. We left a bit of rubbish in the middle of the floor each day to see if they would clean and they didn’t. Even our bed wasn’t made properly. There was dust in places that should have been cleaned prior to coming. In all honesty I wouldn’t stay here again. Our time was ok but I would definitely want half a refund for all of the problems!

Winter stay, solo break from teenagers! Positive review - a solid 3 * hotel (it’s really not 4* just to manage expectation) pleasant and clean. I felt safe and relaxed. Other reviews mention food not being warm and I would avoid the hot food that’s been sat on hot plate - i would stick with either the freshly BBQ meat/fish (ask to wait for a fresh piece at the grill) or the fresh fruits, salads and breads. Fresh water is available from water machine so you don’t have to pay when in restaurant. There are lovely walks through streets of gorgeous villas and shopping centres (I walked up to Nabua Thai - amazing massage, highly recommend) There is an Aldi just up the street and I bought 8L drum of water and lunch time snacks from here (I was half board) The beach is in winter condition (plastic, rubbish etc, think of your garden in Uk winter) but was still lovely to walk along. I just missed the hot weather but I would have been very happy sat by the pool; beautiful and clean and comfy loungers. Lots of areas being renovated for summer but that didn’t impact me in any way. Lovely, nice value holiday, thank you.
Elba Estepona Gran Hotel & Thalasso Spa

This is a difficult hotel to leave. It's very clean and comfortable, the staff are nice and the rooms are especially large for a hotel of this type. We had a sea-view double and a sea-view Junior suite. Both were very nice and very clean. Possibly a bit dated, but not to any great extent. The Elba Estapona is right by the beach but the pebbles and submerged rocks make getting into and out of the sea difficult. It's a ten minute cab ride or a 35 minute walk to Estapona; there's nothing else around excepting a supermarket, 10 minutes stroll away, across the dual carriageway and past an untidy set of commercial buildings. Estapona itself has both a charming old town and a much more modern and very vibrant part. The breakfasts are extensive and well presented with a station for eggs cooked to order. There is everything you would ever need for a full English, continental or fruit feast. Dinner is not so great. Lots of options, but lacking in variety, and whilst there is a good deal of seafood on offer, the crab and lobster pieces are the ones that most cooks would use for soups or sauces. Your only option for lunch - and for me this is a real oversight - is the restaurant. There is no lunchtime pool or bar food service; no pizza or burger or salad. Just the restaurant. Other contributors have mentioned that there are birds in the restaurant; and there are. They're also by the pool, the bar and sometimes in the hotel itself. But they're sparrows and they're entirely harmless and really quite endearing. Overall, a very satisfying stay. However, it cannot be a 5 star hotel when compared to Claridge's, Atlantis The Palm or the Waldorf Astoria. 4 star maybe, with 3 star food.

We booked very last minute, 48 hours before we arrived. The location suited us as we knew the area very well. We stayed on a Bed and Breakfast basis, we only had breakfast twice, however it was good, a good selection of hot and cold items, pastries and fruits too. The room was more than adequate for us for 7 days, and I am known to be fussy. Double vanity area in bathroom was really useful, it had everything we needed. Towels changed daily/when needed, same as sheets. Housekeeping were very good and the balcony was a good size with nice furniture. Pool area was fine, but we were early in the month so can imagine it gets busy. Bar serves on weekends only, again that may be a late April early May thing. Staff are all friendly too. Parking is 15€ a day but there was plenty of free on road parking in the area, so we didn't pay once. You can walk to a few places, including a supermarket, restaurant and bar but would suggest a car to explore the area and there are so many nice bars and restaurants within 5 min drive. Would recommend and return.
H10 Estepona Palace

My partner and I returned from our holiday yesterday, after staying at H10 Estepona Palace for 4 nights. The room was a good size with a balcony and was clean, just your standard double room so no complaints there. A few things let the place down a bit, the main one being the food. We only had bed and breakfast so can’t comment on lunch/dinner, but the breakfast buffet food was always cold. My partner had some scrambled eggs from a brand new tray that a chef put out and it was cold. Baked beans were always lukewarm at best, and although there was an omelette and fried egg station, there was only ever 1 chef available so always had to wait around for ages. The other thing was that the gym didn’t open until 10am. We wanted to make the most of the facilities and get a morning workout in, only to find that it was closed and is only open between 10am and 7pm. Finally there was no ironing facilities available either in the room or to get from reception. The only thing available was borrowing a steamer for a €10 refundable deposit, but it was pretty naff. For a 4 star hotel we were expecting to be able to borrow an iron and ironing board. As we visited late September, the temperature was around mid 20s which was lovely, however the outside pools were freezing cold to the point where it was almost unbearable. Would have liked the pool to be slightly heated! Overall we would say 3 stars, staff were friendly and the hotel was clean and quiet. Next time we would probably stay a bit closer to Marbella / Puerto Banus as there is more to do around the area.
Estepona Hotel & Spa Resort

We stayed here for one week in sep.22. The hotel has a large parking garage, payed, where you you will be assigned a certain place for your time here. The room was spacious, as was the bathroom. But there is a shower in a bath, which has a very high entry, so eldery or people with mobiliy problems might have troubles getting in. Large balcony, but also in need of TLC. The railing is loose and there is very little privacy, because of the obique layout you can see everyone else. The swimming pool is large enough, at least in sept that was the case, because it was very quiet in the hotel. They would be closing down after a week and refurbishe, we were told. And that is very necessary! The outside looks worn-out at some places, could do with some paint. The hotel had build a new and large fitness area, but that was not accessible for guest. There were a few fitness equipment outside. Too bad we could not use the one inside. Pools were very cold and the first day we were here it smelled bad. But other days that was not the case. The beach was a bit let down for us. Not clean, not appealing, bad odour. Could really use an upgrade! The other disappointment was dinner. We booked the hotel assuming there was a buffet, at breakfast and dinner. That is what the hotel claimed to provide. Breakfast was indeed a buffet, but at dinner there was a menu to choose from, but choices were very limited. After a week we were fed up with it. For desserts there was very few options and really small. And you could only get 1, but when there should have been a buffet, we could have had as many as we had wanted. That is a bit odd. And not what we wanted or booked. For a 4* hotel, they could have done better. But it was also not bad. Hopefully the renovations they say they were going to do, will upgrade the hotel to the 4* level they claim ->But in the meantime, we have read that's not really the case :(
