This is a historical hotel where the author of James Bond books once lived and where one of the movies was filmed.
The rooms are good quality.
The spa has a swimming pool, jacuzzi, massage showers, hammam, sauna. However, they refused to give me more than 1 towel per visit.
The breakfast is good quality. You can order a custom-made omelette with various ingredients. The fruit choice included mango and papaya even in winter.
The only unpleasant moment was that they tried to downgrade the room category for us (give a lower category room than originally booked, even though it was in low season). I have never experienced that before in my entire life. Fortunately, thanks to an efficient intervention of the trip.com customer support, we managed to get the exact room type that we originally booked, but there was a little bit of a stress, so I advise everyone to double-check directly with the hotel what room category you will be put in BEFORE you arrive.

We have enjoyed many previous stays since 2012, this wasn't one of them. If they offer you room 401 take your money back and run to the Hotel Miragem down the road... it's the room they would give to the hotel brokers (ie next to the lift, pokey and with the cleaner's station in between). I agree with the previous review as regards its rating - NOT a five star (and we only do boutiques and 5 star). Apart from Marta, managing the breakfast room, all the quality staff have gone. Their replacements are patrronising and fairly stupid. A very unpleasant experience not to be repeated.

Hotel qui vaut tout à fait ses 5 étoiles. L’accueil était un peu rapide sans beaucoup d’explications. La chambre était très propre, la literie très agréable, la salle d’eau propre et même avec le rideau de douche dans la baignoire il n’y avait pas d’inondations. Le petit déjeuner était parfait.

The staff is lackluster and need training stemming from poor management. They don’t help with bags or valet for a 5 star hotel. We stayed in the James Bond suite, the shower wasn’t qualified to wash a small animal. I wouldn’t give this hotel 3 stars. I was extremely disappointed to stay at this hotel for the price and locale. There are far better hotels to stay at in this area of Portugal. The only great experience on property was the Four Seasons Grill.

Ce n’est pas mon 1er avis sur le Palacio. Nous y allons régulièrement. À chaque fois, avec le même plaisir. Le Palacio Estoril est un hôtel magnifique qui offre des prestations remarquables ( accès au Spa Banyan Tree, parcours de golf pour les golfeurs). C’est un palace chargé d’histoire qui se distingue par son élégance. Le bâtiment , les vastes chambres donnant sur le jardin avec une vue sur la grande place d’Estoril et sur la mer, le jardin, les salles de réception, la piscine extérieure, tout y est très beau. Le buffet du petit-déjeuner est excellent et très complet. Le Palacio est notre hôtel préféré au Portugal ( et ça fait 30 ans que nous y allons !).
