Had a great stay for the second time already with big rooms and a great pool and Spa area. only issue was that the bedroom didn't have Windows and no one informed about that before. Also there were a few teenagers taking pictures in the pool area and the person on attendance didn't do anything about it.

The room was okay, but there was no hot water kettle. However, the address marked by Ctrip was inaccurate. Driving could easily lead to fines. The external pictures advertised by the hotel were seriously inconsistent with the actual ones.

The spa area was very nice and the staff were very friendly. The breakfast buffet was exceptionally well stocked and there were enough places to sit. Unfortunately, the waitress in the breakfast room seemed a bit rushed and had her own ideas about who should sit where so that their routes were as short as possible. Humanly understandable, but not so happy with the service in a hotel like this.

The wonderful hotel Erbprinz, only 20 minutes away by car from Karlsruhe is located in the nice little town Ettlingen with it‘s historical market place and the nice little river Alb. The staff at Erbprinz is extraordinary friendly and service orientated, the spa area with it’s snowshower and a nice ensemble of different types of sauna cabins a wonderful place to find quietness and relaxation. The really big pool invites to swim for training or relaxation reasons. Please don‘t forget to enjoy dinner on highest creativity and quality level, or breakfast at the garden terrace. The hotelrooms are nice and individuel styled and offer a cosy atmosphere. Erbprinz is my 100% recommendation without limitation.

Hotel: Excellent Restaurant: Good The hotel was a wonderful surprise for such a small town- amazing staff, sauna/pool facilities, rooms, and staff. I stayed in an updated room, but saw others which were more traditional but also charming. Overall, the building is beautiful and the proximity to the old town in Ettlingen is wonderful. The Restaurant has a Michelin star, but after dining there, I was a bit surprised. The food was mixed, some items amazing, others leaving something to be desired. My biggest issue with our meal was the male waiter we had being extremely rude to a foreign colleague of mine for asking for a non-alcoholic beverage and asking about specific menu items to stay within his dietary restrictions. He openly mocked him for both, and scolded him for looking at the menu while he was speaking. Overall, it soured the rest of the meal, but the food review is still accurate. I understand we all were speaking English (almost all of us natively spoke a different language), but the flat out ridicule was completely uncalled for.

The one Michelin Star restaurant serves food at the quality of fake necklace at the price of a real one. The truffle on the Rossini steak tasted burned and not all of truffles. The bouillabaisse was tasteless. I had rarely a worse pride to quality experience. Maybe with the exception or the Cipriani in Abu Dhabi. There was no love for the food and I was the only guest. A truly sad story and please avoid the amateurish cooking for a first class price .

Had a junior suite that smelled terribly. Explanation from the reception: yes, that is probably due to the bar where smokers are allowed or it could be the broken air conditioning system. At 10 p.m.we received a new room, a far cheaper 'doppelzimmer', where half of the lights did not work and the interior door did not close. Several drunk guests were staggering through the hallways which gave a very unsafe feeling. Unbelievable but this hotel allows smoking in the open bar, which means that half the hotel stinks of cigarette and cigar smoke. They advertise with 'view on the beautiful castle and the old town' but from our window we only saw a train station and dirty courtyard although we asked for the view on the castle... When checking out they presented us the bill: we had to pay for the junior suite! After much discussion, the price was reduced slightly: we agreed with the little reduction (not conform the website nor ***********) because we still had a long travel ahead and were more than tired of this discussion after a bad evening and night in this hotel. It's scandalous that this hotel dares to call itself a 5* hotel.

Pretty expensive. Smells cigars all over the place. Really good breakfast but not cheap, difficult to find parking slots... Pool and Sauna included which is a plus. Waiting pretty long for checkout or parking ticket. Réservation does not always match.

Came with a friend to the smoker‘s lounge, where you also can get a full dinner! Some drinks, three course dinner…was really Great! And later with Whiskey a Havanna! Such a pleasant Atmosphere! Will come again sooner than later! Special: Free parking also!

We met with 14 people for 2 days. Everything was great - rooms, friendliness, extensive breakfast and super delicious food.

Great, old hotel. Great value for money. Of course it's getting old, but the price isn't the highest anymore. Good quality, nice service and a great spa. We'll definitely be back. Parking is sometimes difficult.
