Wedgewood Resort

I am a long time, business traveler here. I have always been very happy with the quality of cleaning, especially, and the kindness and attention from the staff here. They have been so thoughtful and always responsive. Recently, it appears there was a change in management and I was at the front desk and witnessed a new woman who appeared to be a supervisor treating, one of the regular front desk people with real disrespect. It was hard to watch. This is someone who has been particularly helpful to me and always warm and very hard-working. This last week, my room was really not clean when I came back. There was spilled yogurt on the floor in the kitchen. My mirror was not cleaned in the bathroom above the sink, the toilet did not appear to have been cleaned.. My sheets had not been changed. To be fair, I use my own sheets and I leave the clean ones on top of the bed with a note. I have not had any issues with that arrangement before this week. Then I heard that all the old cleaning staff had been replaced this week. I don’t understand why, I have had nothing but excellent experiences with them, and I’ve been here over a year. I don’t know if this has to do with that new manager or not, but I am very unhappy with these changes. Both the Way that staff has been treated and the way that the cleaning standards appeared to have been changed. I reached out to the general manager by phone and left a voicemail, but I got no response. I also sent an email, again, nothing. I’ve been really happy here for quite a while and mostly disappointed with the lack of responsiveness from management at this point. I don’t like seeing people treated poorly, and it appears that the front desk people are not being treated with respect, and possibly those people who were cleaning who were all let go at the same time.

Very kind and helpful staff. Peaceful and beautiful setting yet easy access to everything. Watched aurora from balcony every night. So nice to have full kitchen with dishes, pots and pans... Shuttle available 24 hours was a God send! Very comfortable

What a lovely place to stay! The condo apartments are spacious and fully equipped. 2 TVs, a walk-around balcony, a walk-in closet, 2 couches... The front desk staff, and van drivers (thank you for the complimentary drive to and from the airport) were all very friendly and helpful. Loved the walking path on the grounds! We would definitely want to stay here again.

Loved the room! It was clean and spacious. It had an odor when you walked in and also in your room. Overall, decent place to stay!

we stay here because of the easy access to the beautiful woods and trails. having use of a living room is fantastic. the bedroom is very small and cramped. seriously, there is about 1 foot of space between the beds. The kitchen is nice and well supplied. there is also a huge walking closet!

We are 50's and adult children Stayed for three nights during our arctic circle adventure. Front Desk Staff are awesome, friendly and knowledgeable. Free Shuttle to and from airport and other locations for us. Zacks, restaurant at hotel had good food and atmosphere. Grocery Store, Fred Meyer (like WalMart) in walking distance. Cheerful place, we would use again.

Check in: Easy process, Keys were iffy and didnt work 100% of time STAFF: lovely friendly kind and helpful, patient with our questions BED: soft and comfy. They wobble on shaky legs… Decor: DATED!! But cozy in an old school sort of way. I dig it :) Kitchen: Full sized appliance- no dishwasher, housekeeping doesnt do the dishes Living space: HUGE, the two bedroom is about 1200 sqft with a desk, love seat, sofa SNOW: The grounds are other worldly - just incredible. Parking: They do have the engine block heater hook ups a plus in sub zero winter Overall, I would love to see this place during Spring and Summer, because then we could actually trek the full 100+ acreage. It’s gorgeous here in Winter. Loved the stay. Would give a higher score but the decor is very dated, the TV is blurry and internet super spotty, heater took a whole day to get the temp above 70 in sub Zero weather was sorta concerning given we are not from Alaska. Great place to see snowy Alaska- get some adventure without going too far from your shelter… We missed the car museum so will be returning for sure. Thank you to the great staff who work here and helped us figure out what to do with our excess food stuffs as we check out… much love.

Mariko’s excellent customer service and Juanita’s patience were very valuable to us! Charlie while providing us a safe shuttle service, was helpful in giving us general informations about Fairbanks! Thomas was also kind and helpful by us tips about preparing ourselves for wintertime in Fairbanks.

The stay was great. Great for getting away from busy loud hotels
