Delano Homestead Bed and Breakfast

A home away from home! Some of the B&Bs I have stayed in are beautiful but not warm/inviting.. this place was both. Great location, beautiful grounds and outstanding hosts ( my sister and I could have talked to Lisa (host) and Paul ( owner) all day! We will be back! Thank you!!

What a little gem! We really enjoyed our stay at the Delano Homestead. We love history, so staying at the home of a whaling sea captain, with its high ceilings and beautiful curved staircase, was a treat. But then, to find out that the home was very significant in the life of FDR was an added bonus. And the proof is there in the many old photos decorating the dining room. Our room, with its high posted king bed, was very comfortable. The property manager Tracey was very kind and made us feel very much at home. I took advantage of it, using the dining room table to write my "register to Vote" postcards, which seemed very appropriate to the setting. Breakfast was good and plentiful, with eggs and bacon, fresh fruit and yogurt, and an assortment of baked goods. The location could not be better to explore the history of New Bedford, with the NB Whaling Museum and the waterfront, with its many fishing boats, just minutes away. We are already planning a return visit and will really look forward to it.

The Delano Homestead is an intimate B&B that offers visitors all the comforts of home. My husband and I felt as though we were staying with friends rather than at a B&B. This is in part because of the wonderful innkeeper, Tracey, who always made us feel at home, but we also had a chance to meet the owner, Paul, who was just as welcoming. Our room was charming and comfortable, and very tastefully furnished with period antiques. We enjoyed learning the history of the home when it was owned by the Delano family. We also loved staying in a quiet, residential neighborhood away from the bustle of New Bedford, which was our reason for visiting the area. Should we make a return visit, we will certainly book the Delano Homestead again. It made our stay memorable.

The room was comfortable and quiet and the bathroom was extra lovely. Lots of natural light throughout. The bed was extremely comfortable.

Paul and Tracey were wonderful and friendly. Beautiful place, great breakfast, comfortable bed and quiet. Would definitely stay again if we were in the area again.

We loved staying here. We booked 1 night and stayed 2. The inn keepers are so kind and helpful and great to talk to. Would stay here again if in the area, every time!

Cute little B&B smack dab in the historic part of fairhaven and walkable to local restaurants. I did get the 3rd floor room, which on one hand was a 3rd floor, on the other hand, absolutely wonderful and I'd deal with the stairs again to get it. There was a neat view of the area, the bathroom was large with a claw foot tub, and it was it's only little spot away from everything else. The person that checked me in was also friendly and helpful and breakfast was great.

We enjoyed this venue but visitors should be aware that beds are HIGH, and at least our tub was also. Potential problems for those with mobility issues.

The B&B was beautifully maintained. Breakfast was terrific. Highly recommended.
