We booked our stay for 2 nights for a family emergency in which this would be our very first time visiting Akron, Ohio. From the time of check in I should have observed the red flags. We arrived for checking in and the clerk did not offer the most famous cookies in the entire world which is also a signature for “Doubletree Hilton” standards. With three small children in tow I brushed it off and thought maybe they had run out. No big deal. We entered into our suite expecting to relax, NO WAY JOSE, the AC unit was running making a loud knocking noise non stop all night with no way to shut it off. (Video included yes we reported this to front desk and were told Maintenance would be available the following morning). Waking up you would expect to just hope in the shower to get your day started, NO SIR, shower BROKEN, problem number 2 on its way to the attention of the front desk, (did we remind you that maintenance would be available later?) NOT. VERY. HAPPY. After a very mediocre bird bath, I grab the remote to the television to entertain the kiddos for a few minutes, ARE YOU SERIOUS!? Television ALSO non functioning. At this point I am beyond disappointed and upset, had it not been for the front desk on call manager (I believe her name was Lauren) I would have stood in front of the doors with a sign saying “RECONSIDER DO NOT STAY HERE!” YES we requested to be move (and of course they were sold out leaving us stuck in the out of service room for rent) After checking out, I stopped by the front desk to confirm if anything could be done for the extremely uncomfortable inconvenience and I received a mere 20% discount for a $800 2/night stay. DEFINITELY NOT WORTH IT! I would rather rent a board room at a homeless shelter if I ever visit Akron again and from this visit that will NOT be anytime soon! I did NOT feel like a Diamond Hilton Member at this point!

I'm an Akron resident and I have attended many parties held in the various banquet rooms at the Hilton Fairlawn so I felt very confident hosting my own event there, a reception for my son and daughter in law. My daughter in law's entire family is from out of state and we booked a block of rooms at a very reasonable price. The hotel has fabulous amenities, such as indoor and outdoor pools with beautiful gardens, a first class fine dining restaurant, Beau's Grille, and it's in a location close to all the attractions that Akron and Cleveland have to offer. My experience in planning and coordinating this event with the sales representative, Linda Karcher was fantastic. Linda is so easy to work with, super friendly and very responsive. Her knowledge and experience made the planning of every detail, from menu selections, table placement to booking rooms and guest accommodations, a breeze. The catering from Beau's Grille was one of the main highlights of the event as everyone raved about the luscious foods and amazing presentation. I'm not exaggerating about the food. Everything was absolutely delicious! The grandeur of the room even surpassed my expectations as I arrived early to bring in my additions to the party. The wait staff was attentive, accommodating and friendly. A special shout out to Zach Schmidt, who oversees everything from Beaus restaurant, made sure we were well taken care of. On Friday, the night before the event, we had a lovely meet and greet dinner reserved in the atrium room at Beaus Grille and the experience was perfect, not too noisy, amazing menu and spot on service, all oversaw by Zach. It was a delightful weekend at the Doubletree by Hilton. The guests were happy and everything went off without a hitch. My special thanks to Linda, Zach and Beau. Thank you!

We stayed three nights at the Doubletree in connection with a family reunion. The hotel provided a pleasant base camp in a car-dependent area. We've had some rough hotel experiences recently, so it was a relief to spend some time at a place that was comfortable and relatively quiet at night. I say "relatively" quiet because the HVAC system was on the noisy side, and it was on all the time due to the hot humid weather, but it was tolerable. The room was spacious, not luxuriously furnished but adequate. Public areas of the hotel were pleasant and easy to navigate. The pool area, which features both an indoor and an outdoor pool, was surprisingly enjoyable, given how close the outdoor area was to the major state highway on which the hotel is located. The hotel needs some updates. There was evidence of water damage around the fan in the bathroom and on the wall over the desk (see photos). The bathroom sink drained really slowly. These problems did not interfere with our enjoyment of the stay, but they require attention if the hotel wants to improve its ratings. The hotel is in a suburban area across from a major regional mall. There are some restaurants, entertainment and of course shopping in the mall, but nothing else that is within walking distance. There is a bus stop within walking distance, but the area is not really walk- or bike-friendly. You will need a car. We were also disappointed by the lack of any recycling baskets for trash in the room, or any other promotion of "green" options for guests, such as declining housekeeping. Despite its limitations, we would stay at the Doubletree again. It worked well for our purposes.

To say this is the ABSOLUTE worst facility in the Hilton chain would be an understatement. Basically a $300/night Motel 6. Wifi sucks (don't plan on working if you stay here), nasty stains ALL OVER the carpet, sink drain BARELY drains, beautiful view of a brick wall out the window. You would think at the rates they are charging, they could afford smart TVs for the rooms, but no such luck. 1972 cable channels only. Number of usb ports in the room = ZERO!! Half the lights in the room work, half do not. Just so far from what a Hilton is supposed to be. I could only imagine what would happen if Paris stopped over here LOL. WAAAYYYYY below standards for a Comfort Inn let alone a Hilton. The one saving grace is the staff is very friendly and helpful (as they can be). It is clean and the employees are obviously working very hard to make up for the shortcomings Hilton has stuck them with. BEYOND disappointed!

We have stayed here once before so we know what to expect. It is a little outdated. The ice machines do not work on the 2nd and 3rd floors. We reserved room 360, it noted a pool view.. it overlooked the back parking lot. The outdoor pool wasn't open yet but that's understandable in OH. The staff is great and we requested housekeeping and it was done in a timely manner. (Always tip your housekeepers.) The Suites are very roomy and comfortable. You get a separate living area with a full kitchen in #360. The dressing area is separate from the shower toilet and whirlpool tub. Lots of hot water to fill the tub and take a shower. You have to visit Beau's bar. The bartenders are pleasant and knowledgeable about the food. GET THE MOZZARELLA CHEESE STICKS......The marinara is amazing too. It's a lower level Hilton but we will return for the customer service.

The location worked well for our visit and apparently is the usual place to stay when visiting our Richfield office Decor is admittedly a tad outdated, but not to the point where it’s off pointing Couldn’t really comment on the service as didn’t really see the staff much Front desk were friendly enough, but not too good with faces - saying hello to same person three days in a row and when I approached the desk later on that third day, i was asked if I was checking in! Breakfast staff were friendly when handing you the bill, that’s about it really Breakfast spread itself was OK - best part was the fruit selection, loved that Facilities looked decent - had an indoor pool and business conference rooms On to the room itself, was pleasantly surprised to be given a suite Three tellys, including one in the bathroom, plenty of storage space and comfy bed Only gripe is the water pressure was weak All in all, it could do with a bit of renovation but I look forward to my next stay there nonetheless

We had two rooms at this hotel, one “2 Double Beds Deluxe” and one “Two King Suite.” Both rooms were incredibly outdated and looked worn. The table in the entry of the suite had a broken piece hanging off the front. The suite had pots and pans for cooking but no plates, silverware or cups. As we found out overnight, the AC didn’t work well at all. It was set at 68 and reading 73 when we got there so I lowered it to 65, and eventually 60 hoping it would kick on. Overnight I woke up hot, so I also opened the window. When I woke up in the morning, the AC was reading 75. The shower gel dispenser was completely empty. The double room had hair on the floor and in the bathroom and no shower gel at all. As a Diamond member for several years I spend 180+ nights in Hiltons a year and this by far was one of the worst experiences. When the front desk was contacted they didn’t seem the slightest bit interested in helping resolve anything. If you’re staying in the area, look elsewhere.

I rented a lovely two room well appointed suite but was soon disillusioned and disappointed in the hotel. this hotel does NOT provide ANY service during your stay. Coffee on Sunday morning is not available until after 8:00 am. After going to the front desk at 6:30am and requesting service- the hotel manager assured me I was — on the list. After speaking with housekeeping I learned the manager LIED! My room was not on any list to be cleaned and serviced. What good is it to have a coffee maker in the room if no coffee is i the room. A hotel stay should be a bit luxurious compared to sleeping at home. For the lack of service and lack of available food. ( no food available between 11:00 and 5:30). One can starve to death at this hotel.

What a disappointment. We had to change rooms immediately after finding the assigned room in a very unacceptable condition. We had traveled in the last two months to New York City, Charleston, SC, Savannah, GA but our stay at this hotel was the only one that did not have daily housekeeping! They said is was for health concerns. The next morning we went down to breakfast and the only option was a buffet. This did not make sense to us at all considering the hotel's policy on the housekeeping. The buffet had no sneeze guards or any other health-related protocols in place. Well, maybe--because they were serving coffee in paper cups?? Went out to breakfast for the remainder of our stay. The only housekeeping service they provided was to bring up new towels if requested in advance. Lots of smokers hanging out the back entrance to the hotel. Hotel needs updating, very dark inside, do not recommend.
