Holiday Inn Akron West - Fairlawn

The hotel staff was amazing! Very helpful and attentive. We advised them of a couple of small issues upon leaving but it didn’t deter us from staying there again! The bar/grille wasn’t open on that Sunday and breakfast wasn’t included. The pool was open outside, but it was a little chilly to swim. There are many restaurants and shopping is very close by!

We wouldn't stay here again. Let me first say that the girl at the front desk who checked us in was very nice and helpful! Our first room was really dirty, dust all over the walls and ceiling, wallpaper peeling off the wall, mold and rust in the bathtub, etc. We were moved to a different room which was better, but still a little run down. We were not impressed with the overall quality of the hotel, it needs some renovations and looks worn. The front desk ceiling has plaster falling down. The exterior door entrance to the hotel hallway was unlocked and we could get in without our room key, not very secure. They do offer breakfast but it was $9 so we decided to get Starbucks instead. We found some hair in the bathtub in our new room. Just overall I think there are nicer hotel options out there, I thought Holiday Inn was held to a higher standard.

The beds were so comfortable. The room was clean. The staff was amazing!!! I enjoyed breakfast and the pool. It's in a great location by a mall and tons of restaurants. I would recommend this place to anyone. I cannot wait till I need to go back to Akron

Very comfy beds. Very friendly staff. Handy for both Akron city centre and Cleveland Hopkins airport. Lots of restaurants and stores nearby. Right mix between cost and facilities for me. Plenty of free parking.

The room is very spacious, there is everything you need , iron with iron board and a microwave. The staff very helpful. Very good value for what we paid. Lots of restaurants around the area we could go by walking.

I was here just a few months prior. Even after a less than stellar experience, I gave it another shot. Rooms are the same. Bar still not open. It was summer so I could actually use the outdoor pool. It actually has a deep end at 8 feet so you have room to swim. The improvement was I actually had hot water in my shower and didn’t have to wait ten minutes. Still not great, but it’s slowly getting better.

Melia was an excuse of a manger! Not only she was gossiping about employees, including the GM and other management and that she was giving free drinks and saying the place was dirty and for you to not stay or eat there. And making ****** remarks. Which she said thinking I couldn’t hear her

II arrived after a 12 hour drive. I had reserved an accessible room with one bed and a walk in shower. En route to the room I noticed the carpet was soiled and stained. The ice maker was out of order. It was disappointing but not enough to decline and get back in the car. When I got in the room I saw two cloud high beds and a bathtub with grab bars. I knew I couldn’t use it but I was in need of getting some rest before another 12 hours on the road. Then I was horrified that the bed was so high that I could not climb up. This is a problem for a 5’2” mobility impaired person. I tried to call the front desk but the phone didn’t work. I went back to the lobby to see if I could change rooms. Unfortunately there were no others. The manager did find a solution that allowed a step up. She further attempted service recovery by offering breakfast voucher since I had these problems. The noisy AC interrupted sleep. I was not able to shower but went in search of the breakfast room. In my sleep deprived state I asked the wrong question: “is this the breakfast area for the Holiday Inn EXPRESS? Even though I was there with my suitcase to check out. I was advised I had to purchase the voucher. Was this an additional charge to the voucher given? At this point sleep deprived me felt as if I was being attacked for asking one wrong thing. I was done and wanted to leave. All service recovery attempts by the night manager were undone
