Le Uaina Beach Resort

Love the staff and their private beach and restaurant truly amazing experience the only hiccup is that it is miles away from everywhere but if you want a very private and peaceful location this is it and super cheap, the rooms are basic and could do with updating but otherwise it was just divine!

Great place to stay especially families with young kids. And right near Piula caves

We love Le Uaina! The staff were so friendly, gentle, kind and knowledgeable about the area. The resort has lovely gardens. Food is good. A nice pool for the kids to swim in. Ocean is interesting for snorkelling. It is a few minutes walk to Piula Cave and about 20 minutes walk to Falefa Falls and the locals enjoy a chat with you while you are out walking. Buses to Apia go past the resort. There is a little shop across the road from the resort. A very relaxing place to holiday.

Maybe have an overnight receptionist at the front desk to help with guests throughout the night

We stayed at Leuiana Beach Resort also called Le Uiana Beach Resort, in March 2024. Situated on the north coast of Upola island, Samoa, the hotel is on the eastern edge of the settlement of Lufulufi. It’s about 20km from Apia, the main and only town. It’s 54km from the international airport, a journey of around 90 minutes (island wide speed limit is 35mph/56kph) Just for reference, the first picture on TripAdviser bears little resemblance to the grassy covered area between the accommodation and the sea! The hotel has a variety of room options and we stayed in a Superior Beachfront room. If I were to come again, I might choose the Ocean Front villas as they are more private, have more shade and have steps directly into the sea. Our Superior Beachfront room was large and airy, had a fan and air conditioning. The room was very clean and comfortable with a patio, desk, 2 easy chairs, open front storage and a small fridge. Wifi was generally good although we did experience minor outages. The bathroom is large and has a wonderfully large shower. There is a bar/restaurant on a deck partly over the lagoon and the food, although from a limited menu, is good and tasty. Some items on the menu, primarily fresh fish, weren’t available as fish stock around the island is surprisingly poor due to over fishing from unregulated foreign fishing fleets. Without exception, all the staff are friendly and helpful and unfailing polite. Whilst were stayed, apart from weekends, there were few guests. I guess the remoteness of Samoa accounts for that largely. Casting a critical eye over the hotel, I would note that some of the hotel infrastructure is a bit ‘tired’. The rooms are well cared for but wooden sunloungers, need some TLC as do the handrails on the steps into the sea. Some tiles are missing from the three swimming pools and the floor in the restaurant needs some attention. The north coast of Upola is still recovering from the 2009 earthquake and tsunami so there is no beach, but at mid to high tide you can swim safely in the lagoon. The coral on the inner reef still hasn’t recovered, but it is slow,y regenerating. That said, I’d highly recommend staying here if you want peace and quiet and sea view.

We went with a group, and booked both 3bdrm suites. The staff, the food and the service was all so amazing. The resort is a lot more beautiful in person than in the pictures and is also a walk away from piula cave. The staff always welcomed us with a smile and went above and beyond to continuously accomodate to us The only reason we checked out was because the suites were booked out. We stayed here when it was the older Le Uaina over 10 years ago. Sadly it was better then than now. This time we were 5 adults, 2 kids, 1 baby. We stayed in garden villa, it was run down: the rooms definitely are not good. Yes good aircon and bathroom. But the walls had homes, paint jobs not completed. One of our villa air con had to be fixed. The Beds you can fill the springs. The mattresses for our kids. We have better ones in the village. They didn’t clean our villas at all whilst we were there for the weekend. It was mission for new towels, due to swimming, you had to return a towel to get a new one which is quite silly. Even that, took ages to replace, we would finish showering and still be waiting. The food for breakfast could have been better but it was ok. The dinner options was average. Not good quality nor sizing. The staff were probably the best thing. Always smiling and very polite which was nice. The fiafia night was awesome. We enjoyed that but very short compared to other shows we’ve been to. But service and processes were quite poor and lacking a lot of love. We had a better time 10 years ago. We only came back to see the new renovations. Probably won’t stay again. Totally needs an upgrade in everything.

Property and layout was great easy to get to water pools . If you really wanted it to boom ,there were a few minors maintenance that could be looked at and fixed . Bit beside that we enjoyed the gret quality of the people, staff they were amazing 👏 😉

Wonderful staff, felt absolutely taken care of despite them being quite busy. The bar staff especially were so kind and gracious. They were funny and so helpful with my kids as well. Everyday was greeted with smiles and great food. I only wish we were offered to have the room cleaned more often.
