We stayed at Summit Ridge this winter to ski at Falls Creek on 3 different occasions staying 15 nights in total at a cost of $5403. It’s a lovely property, however I cannot say the same about the overall management. Firstly after our initial stay both my husband & I contracted Covid . We had a second booking to stay at Summit Ridge in July & booked additional days at another falls creek lodge. This stay was within approximately 10 days of being ill with Covid. We were both still feeling ill after the 7 day quarantine period & contacted both properties to cancel our reservations; Summit Ridge did not offer a refund or credit note & basically told me we need to learn to live with Covid. The only basis I would get a refund was if the room was booked again . On further investigation I discovered the management of Summit Ridge extended their cancellation policy from 30 days to 60 days after my booking. I presume in anticipation of further refund requests. On the other had the other property ( Falls Creek Country Club) gave me a full refund & asked if I could send confirmation of a positive RAT test . I provided them with that & an email from DHHS confirming our diagnosis. A full refund was provided. I believed as we were staying multiple nights over the ski season at Summit Ridge they could have displayed some goodwill. And finally, on our 3rd stay this one in August ‘22 , I had arrived back to the accommodation after skiing & had to rush to my room as nature called . I didn’t have time to take off my ski boots due to the urgency. I was followed to my room by the management & admonished for wearing my ski boots in the lodge . Firstly , I had never done that before & was extremely embarrassed to have to explain why . Would I stay at Summit Ridge again …NO , would I recommend Summit Ridge , NO . I can honestly say the only saving grace is Anne, her attitude & customer service was exemplary. However that does not change the overall customer experience.
