GGuest UserThis was my third visit to the Huaqing Palace, and it was only by staying at this hotel that I truly understood what Huaqing Palace is all about and why it's so special. To truly appreciate it, you have to experience Huaqing Palace under Mount Li after the crowds have dispersed at dusk and before they arrive in the morning. While there are other decent hotels nearby, this is the only one located within the Huaqing Palace grounds. Almost every room comes with a private hot spring, and I particularly recommend the rooms with an outdoor private hot spring – the experience is simply wonderful. The hotel staff are all very friendly, and the restaurant is quite impressive; I had all my meals at the hotel during my stay. Although the restaurant is a short walk from the hotel, there's a shuttle service, and it's not a long walk anyway. On a nice day, you can even enjoy the scenery along the way and digest your meal. All in all, this hotel exceeded my expectations in every way, with no disappointments whatsoever. If I come back again, it will definitely be my top choice.

JJ4ckyService: 10/10 What an amazing stay here at the Intercontinental, stayed here for 4 nights in the Deluxe King room. Arrived and checked in late at 12AM, the staff were pleasant and respectful, quick and got me settled in. The staff were very attentive and service just impeccable - consistent in greetings at each turn and always double even triple checking if you require and help. Room: 8/10 The rooms are clean, and cleaned on a daily. The cleaning lady was incredibly attentive, on the first night I asked for more water as the room only came with two, consistently day after day they left 4 bottles for me which was really appreciated on my part - it’s a minor thing but it really elevates the experience. Room is quiet, can’t hear a thing from the opposite rooms. Occasionally there are some sounds from the door but it’s really unnoticeable. Shower; the only reason why i didn’t give it full marks. Maybe it’s personal preference but the water does not seem to get hot enough, the water pressure on the shower head seems a bit lacking. Nevertheless though, don’t let that deter you from booking as it’s still an overall great stay. Tub; no complaints, water runs hot, what better way to relax and kick back after a day of being a tourist and walking 20k. Location: 10/10 I think this one is completely subjective to personal preference. The location is in the midst of white collar working towers so there is quite a bit of traffic. There is a subway station close by as well -though I never used it as I took a Didi 100% of the time. A mall is nearby within walking distance but again didn’t go. Most commutes by didi take 20-30 minutes due to the traffic but honestly looking at the Westin or other hotels in prime tourist locations (ex. Pagoda , bell tower etc) there is sooo much traffic and noise as they have so many different activities happening there. For me this location have me back some silence after a long day out. Atmosphere: 10/10 The hotel is beautifully decorated, cleaned throughout. Jo Malone fragrances in every elevator. It was such a relaxing atmosphere to be in. Breakfast: 10/10 If you can, give the breakfast a try. There’s a huge variety of Xi’an delectables you can try, from the roujiamo, liangpi etc that are available plus a mixture of western food. The staff I must commend once more are incredibly attentive and always try to make your experience better. Final thoughts - highly recommend the intercontinental Xi’an for your next stay. I truly enjoyed it and would recommend it for those coming for a 5 star experience!

LLandaorenI hadn't stayed at Sofitel Legend before, but I had twice stayed at the Sofitel and Mercure hotels next door (Mercure has since closed down). However, I've always had an irresistible attraction to hotels with a rich history, especially those converted from former high-level government guesthouses (let's call them 'old money hotels'). While planning where to go for the 2026 Chinese New Year, a short video platform surprisingly pushed this hotel that had always intrigued me. I checked the prices, and compared to other five-star hotels in Xi'an, it was significantly cheaper, so I booked a New Year's Eve stay. Upon arrival, the doorman promptly opened the car door and helped with our luggage, which goes without saying (though, to be fair, many five-star hotel doormen nowadays lack such proactiveness). The front desk staff efficiently and smoothly handled the check-in process, offering a choice of champagne, coffee, or black tea as a welcome drink. While resting in the lounge area, I happened to see a few young women taking photos in the hotel's coffee corner, adding a lively touch to the atmosphere. The attendant escorted us to our room, briefly introducing the hotel's history. Built in the 1950s, it served as a provincial guesthouse, combining Soviet, French, and traditional Chinese architectural styles. The complimentary bottled water was also in Tetra Pak packaging, reflecting the hotel's commitment to green practices. During our stay, the restaurant's host remembered our preferences by the second day. The 'shui盆牛肉' (beef soup) with 'baiji mo' (flatbread) was incredibly fragrant and chewy; I almost wanted to pack some to take home. The butler service was also impeccable, with turn-down service promptly at 7 PM every evening. The local specialty drink, 'Bingfeng' soda, was a delightful taste sensation. On the morning of the first day of Chinese New Year, the hotel arranged a lion dance performance – I never expected to see a Southern Lion dance team in Xi'an. Although the hotel only has 71 guest rooms, excluding the few business presidential suites that are rarely occupied by ordinary guests, there are about 60 rooms. Based on my observations during our 4-day, 3-night stay over Chinese New Year, there were probably only 8-9 other occupied rooms, so the overall occupancy rate wasn't high. Perhaps most people don't choose this place, as its exterior appears very understated and discreet. However, I highly recommend it, especially when traveling with elderly family members. The location is super convenient for getting around, just a 10-minute walk from Wulukou Station on Metro Line 1 (right next to Minleyuan and Wanda Plaza). I'd love to stay here again next time I visit Xi'an, haha! 😄

JJohnTingThis is more than a hotel. It is a sanctuary in the middle of bustling Xi'an. We were always welcomed with a warm smile by the staff daily. The hotel was tastefully designed and exuded warmth and calmness. The clever use of earthly colours and heavy accent on the usage of timber created an inviting atmosphere. The usage of lightings to highlight certain objects while casting shadows around said objects created an impression of an art gallery. One word to describe this hotel.... LOVELY!!! The butler service in servicing breakfast, afternoon tea and supper was highly appreciated. One added bonus for me was that I was able to photograph Bell Tower in peace and luxury at the top open deck. Highly recommended this hotel for relaxation and also photographing Bell Tower

GGuest UserBecause I booked for my friend, I booked three standard rooms, and then I went to their hotel in advance to inquire whether there was a deposit or something like that, and then the front desk staff was very enthusiastic, left me a WeChat, and the service was very good. The hotel is very conveniently located, very close to Ganjiazhai and Keji Road subway entrances, the environment is very good, and the sanitation is also very clean. The main thing about their hotel is that the location is very good, the service is very good, the facilities and equipment are very good, including afternoon tea, which can be used at the entrance of the lobby on the first floor, which is also very convenient and has plenty of time. It is also convenient to have breakfast and supper in the restaurant, and there are many tourist attractions nearby. The location is also good, and there is free parking at the door,

GGuest UserLocation and Environment: The hotel boasts an excellent location near the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda, offering convenient access to the Shaanxi History Museum, Datang Everbright City, and Joy City. Despite the bustling area around the Pagoda, the hotel maintains a tranquil atmosphere. Upon entering the lobby, you're greeted by a thoughtful ambiance featuring birdsong and fragrant flowers. Facilities: As one of Xi'an's top hotels, I have a few suggestions regarding the facilities. Firstly, the gym and meeting room are combined, and the layout could be optimized. The gym equipment is quite basic (perhaps not many people use it), and if you choose to work overtime in the meeting room, there are no power outlets for charging devices. While it's good to have both, they both feel a bit underutilized. Secondly, the hairdryer is incredibly loud; my ears were ringing by the time my hair was dry. While a Dyson isn't a must, a Laifen would be a welcome upgrade. Thirdly, regarding the washbasin, since this area is soft-separated from the bed, consideration should be given to preventing excessive splashing during normal use. The basin is too shallow and splashes a lot; I highly recommend replacing it if future upgrades are planned. Fourthly, I suggest providing two pairs of slippers in the shower room for added convenience, especially considering the risk of older guests slipping. On a positive note, I appreciate that small signs outlining the available facilities are displayed in the check-in area; it's concise and commendable! Service: The staff are very enthusiastic, and I find the people of Xi'an to be incredibly warm. My suggestion is for the hotel to proactively remind or reserve afternoon tea and evening soup for guests, perhaps with a call. For instance, I only discovered these services on my second day. In contrast, the Huagong Yutang Hotel, where I stayed the night before, specifically delivered these items to my room. There's room for improvement in this area. Breakfast: The breakfast chef's skills are impressive, and there's a good selection of local specialties like Roujiamo (Chinese hamburger) and Liangpi (cold noodles). The thoughtful mix of Chinese and Western dishes ensures that even latecomers won't miss out. The aunties at the breakfast buffet even thoughtfully suggested packing some pastries for the children. Overall, I'm very satisfied. I especially commend the soaking pool; the water temperature and flow control are excellent, so you don't have to fill it ages in advance, and bath salts are provided. My suggestion is to offer a fruit plate (delivered to the room) based on the room type, which would enhance the overall experience. In summary, both my parents and child were pleased, and we'll definitely stay here again!

GGuest UserThe hotel staff were really friendly and the location is fantastic, just about 300 meters from Datang Everbright City, so we went for a stroll there after dinner every night. 😂 The breakfast was decent too, good enough that we didn't get bored of it over six days. The room size was adequate, and there were plenty of outlets for charging phones, tablets, and smartwatches simultaneously. The body lotion was a nice touch! The travel service on the ground floor of the lobby was also very helpful; we booked tickets for the 'Camel Bells Legend' show and a day trip to the Terracotta Army. They even provided transportation for the show, and the guide for the Shaanxi History Museum was very knowledgeable!

GGuest UserThe hotel's right next to Longshouyuan subway station, which is super convenient for getting around. Plus, there are two shopping complexes directly opposite, so food and shopping are a breeze. The room itself was quite spacious, and I really liked the lighting design and dimming options. Overall, the facilities were decent. My only complaints are that the TV quality was really poor, and the disposable toothbrush provided was low quality. Service was fine, but the staff all seemed a bit unhappy.

GGuest UserSuper kid-friendly, highly recommend! The location is convenient, the decor is unique, and they offer afternoon tea and late-night snacks. The service is warm and attentive. Xiao Yi at the front desk was efficient and thorough during check-in, proactively informing us about local attractions, afternoon tea, and supper times, and even upgraded our room type. The restaurant staff, particularly the auntie, was incredibly helpful and professional. We were late back from afternoon tea, and when she heard our child still had classes, she immediately brought over some congee and snacks. The experience was truly top-notch! We definitely have to give Xiao Yi, the auntie, and the hotel a big thumbs up. We'll be back next time! The only minor downside is that the laundry room doesn't have new commercial equipment.

GGuest UserThe hotel is on the rooftop of a building that has mainly food stalls. It was a bit tricky to get in, but once you find the elevator its easy. Else use the escalator two times and you‘re directly there. Behind the hotel is a hairdresser(for your orientation in case you don‘t see the little building immediately) The view is really nice! Inside you‘re greeted by not only one but three kitties.  The host was welcoming and stored my luggage because it was not check in time yet. I went to see the terracotta army. I recieved my passcode via Wechat and when i got into my room, my bag was already inside. I enjoyed the night view and there is a play you can listen to from afar. The afternoon tea and breakfast was nice. It wasn‘t like a gourmet experience, but tasted simple and made me appreciate the little things in life. The place is nicely decorated. I had the room with the sky view. The bed was soft. I almost went for the tatami room, but I realized the bed wouldn‘t be soft. So if you book think about what kind of experience you want. I think this place has 4 double bed rooms (2 soft bed, 2 tatami) and a family room.  Overall I definitely recommend this place. It‘s just so lovely pet and play with the cats. Luckily all of them love getting pet. Orange is just a little more shy, but is willing to with patience.  The reason I chose this is because it‘s close to the terracotta army. And I specifically chose this because Iike the interior. I always have a hard time picking hotels because I want it looking nice from the inside. I didn‘t with this one and it was worth it!
