Two nights here were lovely. Lobby is warm, welcoming, full of antiquities and has a nice fragrance. Room is on small side, we had two double beds and valley view above lobby but we weren't spendy our day in our room, so for that it did what it needed to, providing us good sleep. Linen and bed were comfortable. Room was quiet, comfortable, shower had a lot of pressure. Host was considerate to place us away from a group that wasn't so quiet, which I appreciated. The lobby is so comfortable to hang out, there's a puzzle to work on when you can chip in to help finish, I loved the history and atmosphere of this historical lodge, it was quant, cute and well appointed. The bar was so cute and cozy and bartender makes a great old fashioned. Mae's restaurant for breakfast was delicious, sadly we only had time to dine there once. I see some reviewers are upset with lack of or old A/C unit in room, and yes it's old style and could be updated perhaps as it is a bit loud w/ the fan going, but when it got going the room was cold for sleeping. This wasn't a big deal to us. And yes the rooms have old fashioned keys and not electronic cards, which add to the charm of the hotel. ( Some people just like to complain without putting into perspective. )The pool and hot tub were clean and offered a fab view of the sunset. I would return in a heart beat when weather would cooperate to sit outdoors on the veranda which looked great. Would like to also return in the Fall. The staff here is fabulous!
