Adult daughter & I arrived at Graduate Fayetteville about 8:30pm Sat after 14hr drive. Had reserved a Prem Queen Corner room (2Q beds) for 3nt stay. Front desk agent very kindly let us know he had upgraded us to a suite. Awesome! Well, got up to the suite and it only had a King bed (maybe sofa bed, too in LR) but we wanted our own true beds & good night sleep; moving other daughter into apartment the next afternoon. Went back down & asked for our original room resv & Cory felt bad & gave us a balcony Q room on top floor. Didn’t use balcony but that was nice. We were up really late with time change & room connected to us was loud. Got a call on room phone at 9am Sunday waking me from front desk notifying me we had to move rooms; our room type was sold out and we should not have been upgraded. I said my daughter was still sleeping. He said we would be comped for next room night for the trouble. So much for relaxing morning & room service. I got up, was in the shower and heard phone keep ringing, it woke my daughter and then someone came to the door with a key to the room we needed to move to — this was before 11am! I had to pack up all my stuff, didn’t dry my hair, lugged my stuff down to new room, unpack it all again to get ready, all because of their mistake. I understand these things can happen but could we not stay in the room until noon or whenever we were ready, when I had a 3-night reservation? I paid $400+ for that first night! My daughter didn’t have time to shower in that room, I didn’t have coffee or water. The “new” room which was actually the room type I originally reserved was bigger than Balcony Q and much quieter since it is an end corner room. I’m wondering if this original room type I reserved was just not available on check in? The next day, Monday (after using all towels after 3 showers and our coffee & water) we left the room before noon without dnd on door and never received housekeeping; just wanted towels & coffee. On our checkout morning Tues I knew hotel was busy but I asked if we could have a noon checkout (checkout is 11am) and he said they usually charge but would put a note in system not to & noon would be ok (this was also the front desk agent that had just gotten towels & coffee for missed housekeeping so it’s not like I was asking for tons). I had trouble sleeping & fell asleep at 4am. Housekeeping knocked at 9am waking me, to clean the room - I went to door telling them we check out at noon. They returned at 11am & 11:30 😫. Upon checkout charges from bar for food that weren’t ours on room. We never ate at hotel. I’m guessing with all the room changes things got messed up and charged to us. They were taken off. FYI they will be joining Hilton Honors program and bookable thru Hilton online soon. Pros: some very nice front desk agents even tho things got messed up, great downtown location, bartenders friendly, beds comfy Cons: connecting rooms noisy, housekeeping issues, dirty duvets/coverlet, rooms not super
