White Horse Lodge

A local shopkeeper characterized the hotel as "basic," but it was fine for our needs since we didn't spend much time in our rooms anyway. We really enjoyed the fireplace room in the evenings, and there's a game room and kitchen area for BYO meals. They do offer free coffee and creamers/sweeteners along with a large fridge and microwave for guest use. There's a game room (bring quarters), a small sundries kiosk by the front desk, and some outdoor areas that looked as if they'd have been nice in warmer weather. Helpful and efficient staff, good communication for self checkin.

I like how organized this spot is. Everything is thoughts out down to the little things. I like how clean and updated it is as well. Being that you’re in a small town I would say it’s very good for a one or two night stay. Exceeded expectations!

It clean and close to the mountain. They do not have staff at the hotel. It snowed one night and a plow truck did not arrive until 10am, making me late for the event that signed up (and paid for, the reason why I was there). No one at the hotel was able to leave. Other guest at the hotel shoveled the common area, no one from the hotel helped with the situation at all. Would not recommend for a winter stay if you have any sort of schedule.

Great place near Sugarbush. Clean with good service.

This lodge is in the perfect location to reach any destination in Waitsfield, VT, including Sugarbush, a short drive away. We stayed two nights for a Friday evening wedding. I was pleasantly surprised by the accommodations. I had read reviews that the Lodge was renovated and was happy the room did not have carpet. The bed was comfortable; however, the bathroom was small (no vanity, just a sink, toilet and stand-up shower.) You can’t do much about that, but there was shelving outside the bathroom where you could place your items as you are getting ready and an area to hang clothing. There was also a television, which was a “plus” for me, as the people we traveled with at other hotels had no TVs. I just like it for the noise when sleeping. The only downfall to this Lodge was there is no restaurant on-site, hence the four rating. We met the Innkeeper Dana upon check-in, who was extremely helpful during our stay. We only saw Dana upon check-in, but there are signs with a phone number to contact her or her husband Zan with any requests or issues you may encounter. I would recommend staying there. Thank you.

The hotel location was excellent as a base for our travel plans. There are two things that you get a low rating on: 1. No real fire in the fireplace. 2. The photos did not reflect the facility. We had expected a little something.

Very quiet and clean. Stacy was wonderful during check-in. Would not hesitate to come back again.

The location of the property was great. It had its charm with remoteness while still being close to restaurants and shopping.
