Our stay at the hotel for a wedding was overall fantastic. The location was breathtaking, providing an idyllic setting for the occasion. Although we didn't explore the spa and golf facilities, they looked inviting. The breakfast was a delightful mix of traditional English and continental options, starting our day on a high note.
The only hiccup was the lack of assistance with our luggage to our room across the car park, a tricky trek in high heels, especially with the unpredictable weather. Fortunately, the rain paused, easing our journey slightly.
Despite this, we thoroughly enjoyed our time and would recommend the hotel for its stunning location and delicious breakfast, with a note to be prepared for a bit of a walk if your room is further out.

Stayed here for a friend's wedding this weekend! Had an apartment for the night. Was very nice and well equipped even had tea, coffee and milk in the fridge which wasn't expected as self catering. Unfortunately didn't sleep very well as bedrooms where so hot. Couldn't get any aircon to work and not sure the rooms even had it in them. Then realised in the morning the towel radiator in the ensuites left on full heat presumably by housekeeping so that didn't help along with the hot weather. Alot of noise of people walking past the apartments in the early hours too and cars reving waking us up! Used the spa facilities in the morning and they were pretty unimpressive too...not very clean and could do with a refurb. Run down and didn't feel very clean and spa like which is a shame as was looking forward to a relaxing spa.

We only had a 1 night stay for a wedding but wow what a place. It seemed every amenity was on site. At check even though late on a Saturday night the staff were welcoming at extremely helpful in fact showed us to our ecopod even though it was raining.
The ecopod was nice and basic but the clue is in the name. Our breakfast which was included was absolutely brilliant well presented well cooked and filling again all staff couldn't have been more helpful.
Check out again was a pleasant experience and we would not hesitate to stay or visit if we were in the area again.

Swimming Pool great. Staff within pool side were lovely and helpful. Gym huge!
Free towels but £10 for robes. £2 for slippers.
Eco pod great, showers only x3 were lovely.
But very small to get into.
Restaurant average!
Breakfast a buffet!
Receptionist SUE was fantastic, very helpful and friendly. Knowledgeable and kind.
Bar staff rude! No manners young lad.

Awful experience avoid at all costs! Don’t book this hotel! Save your money! My partner has complained multiple times to the managers and general manager to be ignored multiple times by the GM himself to then also get rude and defensive reply’s back from the Duty manager on her reviews she left. They claim to listen to all feedback and take it all on board, but it doesn’t seem like that given the amount of negative comments still being posted on here. I hope some senior managers actually read this, alongside the 100s of other negative reviews and realise they need to take a hard look at their managers and attempt turn this hotel around. Rebecca Bradley please don’t bother replying to this review with the same generic response you appear to be giving everyone else.

I had a horrendous experience with terrible customer service. Since March, I’ve been following up on a complaint, emailing General Manager Mike numerous times without receiving a response. When I called to speak with him directly, I was told he was away for two days but would be informed to contact me. I never received a call, suggesting he might not handle constructive criticism well. Initially, I tried to resolve my complaint privately, avoiding TripAdvisor to protect their reputation. However, the lack of response has made the situation unacceptable. The original issue was serious but could have been easily fixed; instead, it has worsened due to poor communication and a complete lack of customer care from the management. If it wasn’t so far to drive there myself and have the discussion in person rather than them avoiding phone calls and emails I would.

Old Thorns - what on earth were you thinking when you booked this tribute band? Were they the last band available? A tribute band should ideally look (a little bit) like the artist and perform like the artist. This guy (Freddie Mercury) does not tick either of these boxes. He was total sh#te. And with the music being played at 110db it was too painful to endure the painful performance. I heard people shouting get off and booing when he finished singing, which is a bit rude, but totally understandable. The food was ok - portion control (as usual) at its best . 1 medium size chicken (nicely cooked), 8 1cm potato cubes, 1 half of carrot and about 6 french beans. Clearly going for a cheap menu to maximise profits Drinks expensive - gin and tonic and a beer £15. And don’t get me started on how much you want to charge for a room for the night after the music finishes (£180 for those that are interested). And all this for £49 per person. I’m sorry but I cannot recommend. All I can say is thank heavens for the free WiFi to pass the next 1 hour and 20 minutes before my taxi comes. I’m afraid I will never be coming back to one of these events.

Old thorns was okay. I had always heard good reviews however was slightly disappointed. I felt it was a hotel with some spa facilities instead of a dedicated spa. The food was really average I was not impressed at all, the service at dinner was so poor we only had water after 40 minutes. Breakfast was nice, however the buffet was very dirty with hairs on the side etc. You do not get robes and slippers with the room it’s £20pp to rent. For me at a spa I would expect these included. The gym was slightly outdated with old dumbbells etc. the pool was nice however, busy. The golf course looked great this looked like a good one day event. Otties was also enjoyable. The room was adequate. There was no minibar, toilet brush, toiletries, the mattress wasn’t amazing and the tv was old.
