Hotel Royal

Great hotel and near the beach, good customer service and very clean hotel. The rooms are a bit dated but clean and have everything you need.

We first stayed at this hotel whilst visiting relatives in nearby Porto St Giorgio about 20 years ago and have visited off-and-on a few times since then. Last week we made our fourth or fifth visit. The rooms are spacious, it is always spotlessly clean, and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast is always pretty good, with plenty of fresh pastries, fruit, fruit juices and coffee. The hot breakfast food is a little 'mass catering', but is nonetheless as good as, if not better than, corporate hotels I have stayed at in Milan. Plenty of other reviews will tell you about the pool (I have only used it once and it was fine), the proximity to the beach (you only have to cross a cycle path to get to it), and the restaurant (which was excellent on the few occasions I have eaten there). We first chose it because it looked like a reasonably luxurious but not extravagant place to stay, which was close to, but not on top of, my wife's extended family in Porto St Giorgio. I think the thing that keeps us coming back is the fact that our first observation was correct and that the character of the place has not changed since our first visit. We will certainly return.
