I really liked Fitzroy Island itself!! I think I'll just go for a day trip next time. The room was dusty and moldy, and the bed was damp. Unfortunately I couldn't sleep because of the strong damp smell.

It is a very beautiful island. Especially go to the beach. The entire beach is covered with coral. Coral here. It's heaven. For reference, the coral paradise is to the right of the dock. On the left is the empty field Nudi Beach, on the right is the empty field To the left is a coral paradise

This is an apar**ent-style resort, a suite design with an oversized living room and a full open kitchen where food can be brought in from the city. Each room faces the beach, and you can enjoy sunbathing and snorkeling to see coral at any time, which is very enjoyable. The only thing is that the exhaust air in the bathroom seems to be broken, there is no sound, there is a little air circulation, and there is a little odor in the morning. At the same time, the dishwasher has been posted with a damaged notice, which seems to have been a while. Although it is not used, it is not good to have a broken piece of equipment.

You pay a lot of money to stay and for the transfer and don’t get much from it. Some of the service was great but from higher management people was terrible

Cons - Customer service is disappointing at best, and non existent when you actually want it. - Phone line didn’t work so i couldn’t call to check about accomm/ food/ anything related to my stay prior to booking. Made the online booking and had to email to get confirmation. - Table service at breakfast is painful and not a great way to start the day. Took 10-15 min to even be seated. Had to ask the waitress if she would take my order after waiting 15min, another 20min before the food actually came out. - Asked for housekeeping to change my pillowcases, never happened - Room smelled moldy - def unpleasant- kept the balcony doors open throughout the day - Not having wifi access in rooms is insane in 2024. Wifi extenders have been around at least a decade at this point. - Rooms are NOT clean. Pretty sure my sheets weren’t changed between the prior guest and me. The pillowcases were dirty and after the first night i found blonde hair matted in to my (very dark brown) hair the next morning. Asked for pillowcases to be changed. Didn’t happen. Slept on one of the many towels they gave me after that. - Have they never turned their mattresses ever? Mattress was very uncomfortable with a deep dip on the sides of the bed and a high in the middle of the bed. - Carpet around the bed hasn’t been vacuumed. - Bathroom didn’t have an exhaust fan (!). - Shower door covered in scum. - Can def tell when a bathroom has been designed by a man bc there is no space to put any products on, forcing you to put shampoo conditioner soap and cleanser on the dirty floor of the shower, just gross. - Had to clean the mugs before using them, clearly they had not been cleaned before being put back in the cupboard (marks all came off easily with the provided scrub pad so reckon they were rinsed with water and then put back in cupboard). - Food, general store etc all very costly for not great quality (eg Ceasar salad for $18.90 + $8.90 to add grilled chicken - $28 for a salad) - You are told to call housekeeping if you want anything, but with no phone reception in the rooms or the provision of a phone, that is not feasible. Pros: - Staff in dive shop were pretty good. Ethan and Lette who took the snorkel tour were very good. - Proximity to snorkeling right off the beach is second to none, is easy to just go on your own. Just to emphasize this, if you have your own gear (wetsuit, snorkel& mask, fins) then you don’t need to spend any additional money on seeing the reef. I got a package so they gave me fins to use through my stay (have my own snorkel and mask). Note that suits need to be rented out. - Provision of a clothes horse in the room is useful and meant i could dry my gear overnight. Notes: If there was an emergency in my room and i could not get up or get out, i would have no way of receiving any assistance or alerting anyone of my predicament. At the very least shouldn’t there be a landline phone in the room that reaches reception? I have a kitchenette in my room wi

I recently stayed at a lovely resort on Fitzroy Island. The general service was excellent, with friendly and attentive staff. A particular highlight was the **exceptional service from a waitress at the restaurant**, who went above and beyond to ensure a delightful dining experience. The resort offers a wide range of activities, making it ideal for adventure seekers. However, it lacks a massage center and jet ski rentals, and there’s no comfortable spot for stargazing at night. Improvements could include eliminating diesel vehicles from paths used by tourists and addressing waste behind the camping site. Overall, a great stay with room for enhancement.

The location is 10/10 and the resort is nice, staff were warm and welcoming. Unfortunately the room was lacking. While showering I noticed a number of patches of black mould on the bathroom ceiling. The phone didn’t work so I asked at reception about this. I was told phones in the rooms don’t work but I could email or come down if I needed something. I woke up at 2 am feeling very sick, thinking I must have come down with a cold. I went through all the toilet paper and tissues with a running nose. The room was cold but I didn’t want to go all the way down to reception to ask for a blanket as I was feeling so unwell. I noticed I felt a bit better once out of the room. After one night at a hotel in the city I felt completely better and the symptoms that came on in the hotel room were gone. I believe it was the mould in the bathroom. For this reason I would not stay here again unless this was remedied.

Whilst the beach activities were great and we would certainly visit again for that, we would think twice about staying overnight (standard twin room) - maybe the more expensive rooms have been updated ? Maintenance issues visable around the resort which was disappointing. The staff were friendly and happy to answer any questions we had. Beautiful island, just needs some love given to it.
