We arrived at Galley Bay on May 31st and were greeted with rum punch. Check in was easy although our room wasn’t ready (early flight) we were taken to lunch by Alfred. He was super friendly and excited to welcome us to the island. He helped with our bags and came back to pick us up when our room was ready which was only about an hour. Rooms were very nice and clean. We got balloons for my birthday, cheese/fruit, & a bottle of wine. Our maid came every day. Only issue is we were only given 2 towels for the room. We had to ask multiple times for 4. We like to shower in the afternoon and after dinner. The air worked amazing in the rooms! No humidity or issues with it not working. Food was probably the best food we had at a resort. We have been to many resorts including sandals and found that this food was made with love. The BBQ lunch on Thursday is definitely a can’t miss! The drinks were strong and delicious! Only issue we came across at the restaurants were the bugs biting at night but the hotel can’t help that so bring bug spray! Service was good for an island. We are from NJ so everything is super fast and we didn’t feel like we had to wait long for our food or service. Beach and pool area were amazing. We went to yoga and Mackenzie listened to want we wanted to work on and she was very nice. We were taken out by Captain Sean and had the best time. Definitely recommend him. We took a walk through the vegetable and fruit garden with Ebony! She is so passionate about her job. We enjoyed her little tour and she even gave us some fresh pineapple. We would definitely go back to this resort. Everyone was super friendly and polite even the maintenance guys said hello.

Galley Bay Resorts, Antigua….beautiful friendly resort. There are so many positive thoughts on this resort…. the ones that stand out are how lovely everyone was from restaurant servers to house keepers, to shuttle service. Everyone makes you feel you deserved this vacation! Our premium beachfront suite was clean and decorated beautifully. Our room is about 50 feet from the ocean so the view was fantastic. Two lounge chairs are on the deck and two more with an umbrella are about 15 feet from our room. Well air-conditioned and stocked with all free beverages from water to wine. My only suggestion here would be that the refrigerators be able to provide ice as there are no ice vending machines. The room was very spacious for two people. Linens are excellent. House keeping was done everyday and the refrigerator restocked. The only complaint we had were the toilets were low and hard to navigate. Perhaps they can set aside a few rooms for older people who have a hard time navigating toilets with bars and higher toilets. The beach was gorgeous. The only issue we had was the hill down to the water was hard to navigate and getting in and out of the water difficult if you have any back or knee issues. We were relegated to the pool (which is beautiful) because there is a shelf going in and out of the ocean and I got knocked down twice. Perhaps the resort can have some kind of lower platform that leads you into the ocean after the shelf. The grounds are magnificent and well kept. Because of our walking issues we didn’t get to enjoy the nature trail or other beach activities but what we so looked great. For those of you who have walking issues a shuttle is provided to where ever you need to go and the drivers where polite and helpful. Our favorite was Alfred who made sure we got on and off safely. The food was prepared nicely and lots of variety even for picky eaters like me. Breakfast could be off the menu, the buffet or both. Lots of great fruit, juices, cereals, eggs made any way you like and great pancakes. The only improvement I would suggest is keeping the juices cold. Lunch could be in one of three restaurants or at the beach grill. Drinks of all kinds were available all day for free. Dinners were displayed elegantly and prepared well. We never left a meal hungry. I would give this a 4.5 out of 5 rating only because of the need for more handicap consideration. The resort is cash free until the end. Everything is charged to your room. Hope you enjoy our pictures and have the opportunity to visit this lovely resort.

We got bit up by bugs really bad. The bartenders at the bar next to the pool had awful attitudes. The one made my husband make his own drink and got an attitude when he asked for another grey goose. She didn't know what was in a Bahama Mama, so I couldn't get that. I called Marlene at Elite Island Resorts three times and she won't get back to me. I want either a discount at another resort or a partial refund. We will never go back to Galley Bay

We have stayed in many AI resorts across the Caribbean and this is by far our favourite one. We stayed for the first time for 10 nights in May and had green flags at the beach every day. We had a couple of rainy days but this didn't deter from our enjoyment at all. We stayed in a Gauguin Cottage and we did enjoy this but next time we will opt for a Beachfront suite as we found a couple of negatives with it; When it rains, there is no overhang, so you can't sit on a chair outside and read, have a drink etc. Due to the heavy rain, because of the design (the resort enclosed the living room area which used to be outside) therefore you have an outside roof with removed guttering inside. This caused our living room area to flood a few times and we had to put buckets and towels down to catch this. Guest Services said that this is normal? Food and drinks were good to very good and the Gauguin restaurant made the dining experience really special. Staff were mostly very good to excellent with just a couple of abrupt members. Entertainment was good too and as stated before, the Saturday night entertainment is exceptional and a must see. I went to Yoga regularly and this was also really good. Mackenzie is brilliant and if you do find yourself with a few leftover dollars from the holiday, she has an excellent animal charity! The watersport guys are also great and offer to take you out in a hobie cat to snorkel. Beware that they do advertise a "new" beach and pool drinks service. We never encountered this during our stay but no where was far to walk and this didn't bother us at all. If you did order at the bar, they would mostly offer to bring it over...as long as you weren't sitting on the beach. We really enjoyed our stay and loved this intimate resort. We will definitely return next year!

We spent a week at Galley Bay in early May. We had a premium beachfront room on the upper floor close to the end of the beach by Ismay's. The room was great, exactly like the pictures on the website. We ate the repeater's dinner at Ismay's. It was excellent. However, we never payed the surcharge to eat at Ismay's during the week. We had dinner at Ganguin twice. We have been all over the Caribbean and I believe the Ganguin restaurant is the best setting we have seen. The food was excellent at all the both of the included restaurants. We had lunch every day at the Barefoot grill. Salads and cajun fish are great. We got up early so we never stayed up to see the entertainment. The coffee shop was great for ice cream, cookies, and pastries. We walked the loop around the lagoon but mostly walked the beach. Lots of waves, but no red flag days. Some folks really enjoy riding the surf and I tried to snorkel but it was too wavy for me. Yes, long pants were required at dinner. Some people griped but if you are prepared with light pants it is an easy accommodation. I like the rules and hope that adhere to them. Overall one the the best trips we've had to the Caribbean. Yes, each room had assigned lounge chairs under a palapa. We only spent an hour at the pool. Always at the beach or our balcony.

What can I say - just returned from our 20th visit to this magical place and it was just as wonderful as our first visit. Perfect location, fabulous beach and the most dedicated staff who have become our friends over the years. If you want a quiet relaxing holiday with great food and exceptional service this is the place for you.
